How do I switch on wireless facility on asus x5dc,please??

Windows 8.1 is a very good current operating system that manages storage space well. If your computer meets the system requirements I would try that.

That means the wifi radio in the laptop is not on. Some laptops allow you to turn it off to conserve battery time. May want to check that.

Some ASUS laptops don't have a physical wireless switch. Instead, you toggle the wireless transmitter ON and OFF by pressing the function key and the F2 key at the same time, i.e. <FN> + <F2>.

Get a new charger. They are pretty cheap. They are notorious for burning out. If that doesn't fix it then the motherboard is bad. But I'd assume the burned out charger.

YOU SHOULD HAVE SOME UTILITY PHOTO SHOP OR SOME EQUIVALENT IF NOT YOU CAN BROWSE THE NET FOR THAT SOFTWARE

TRY CTRL+ALT+ UP ARROW KEY...

Go to the Video controller in the control panel see if you can turn rotate off. I downloaded 2 manuals for your unit, but they were no help:

there are a few ways.
there is a switch on the left side of your computer.
Fn+F2
and also Go to:
control panel / device manager / network adapters
then choose Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adapter, press right mouse button and select enable from falldown menu

When you purchase only a wireless mouse it will normally come with a USB connection dongle/adapter which allow your mouse to connect to your Laptop.

Press "Fn and F2" together and let go and it will show wireless :)
