Seriously, take it back to ALDI for a full refund, you have 60 days to return it. It is just an expensive BRICK, it cannot even record a program while you are out, you have to be there at home to press RECORD. you more than likely have a bad box from cable company easiest fix is to unplug then plug back in. The technicality is that your box is loosing data packets due to noise(electrical interference) which can originate in your home or possible someone in your nieghborhood
cap-grant, my friend has the same problem with set top box. When I phone maker I was told it is due to poor and weak signal. You must have 80% signal strength to maintain good picture. When signal strength dropped picture would freeze and had to be turned off at the power point to restart as nothing would work. So I guess what my experience says is you may need better aerial to boost signal and prevent dropout Leonard210
