Question about Zebra LP 2844 Thermal Printer

Connecting USB cannon mp610 printer to computer

Both of the USB connections (printer & computer) use the Male A USB connection. I ordered the cable online...it came..but it's over 10 feet long! I'm not sure if this is causing my problem (manual recomends cable no longer than 10 ft.) Maybe the cable is bad, do you know of a store where I can buy another one? I'm loathe to wait and order another one online...I need to print asap.

I can't manage to configure the port so my printer will print! My computer will not automatically recognize "new hardware", so I have to select/name/configure the port myself. I'm clueless. The online manual told me to create a port and name it "USBnnn", where n is a number. I choose "USB001".

Nothing. Not even a test page will print. My printer prints directly from a memory card and makes copies...but I can't get it to print anything from my computer.

I assume the drivers were all installed correctly. I used the CD and went through the steps(drivers took 150mb!).

Please help.

You need USB A-B cable and use the USB jack lying on the back-right corner of the printer (not the front one - that is for connecting cameras).

Dear
three defects may cause.
1- change usb cable to different port. (test the port of pc with using pen drive)
2-do replace with another USB cable.
3- printer may defect.

remedies- Try to un install and reinstall the printer driver and its software.

Besides these trained personnel required.

Thanks.

My mp610 no longer prints email documents, but will still print satisfactory colour pictures (Photos). Both black cartridges have been replaced with new. Could this be software or a printer fault?

this is software problem! you did not state what operating system you use this museum quality printer, as my telepathic powers somehow vane... anyway they work only in hollywood flicks... just generic advise:

open any office document and try to print - if it did not, or print garbage - but still print photos - definitely software problem, which can be exacerbated by printer connection or interface

suggesting hot water - IT PRINT PHOTOS! this meant that this is not physical printhead problem but SOFTWARE INTERFACE! pls do not listen to airheads...

now, procedure:

1. remove all cables from the printer including cable connecting to the computer

2. reconnect all cables to the printer except computer

3. try print any photo - printed? printer is ok, maybe cable - interface or computer itself...

4. while computer is on, and printer is on - connect computer to the printer via usb cable (even if you have it on wireless! disable it for the moment), did computer detected it? can you print test page? if yes and yes - you just solved the problem and computer rectified it

if not:

1. disable wireless (if present) and disconnect physical cable from computer

2. uninstall drivers pertaining to the printer

3. go to http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp610#DriversAndSoftware

and download drivers correct for your printer and operating system (remember the bit which you did not tell on the beginning?)

4. after download - start installation, when prompted, connect usb cable to the printer and the computer

5. print test page - printed correctly? solved the problem... if not, then error will be on ingress port of the printer, or cable or egress port of your computer, you cannot eliminate error on the printer but:

change the cable and change the port on the computer to that which you know is working, for example port where your mouse is connected.

if still no joy - use this printer as local for your photos and buy cheap laser with very, very cheap laser cartridges...

hope this will help you to solve your problem do not forget to vote...

What cable do I need to use this printer Epsom sx400 with my laptop? is it a male to male usb?

You need a simple USB Printer Cable to connect the printer to USB Port of the Laptop, which is easily from any Computer Accessories store. Below is the picture of the cable. The normal USB plug (on the left) goes to the USB Post of the PC and the square one at the right should be connected to the printer.

How to connect to computer

This printer uses a USB cable with male A/male B ends; it is not included in the box. A cable of 6' or less is recommended (USB hubs are not recommended but usually will work. Print servers often allow the printer to work but not the scanner.) Install the software before connecting the USB; if you need to download it, go to this site: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=334&modelid=15402 and choose your OS.

If the printer or scanner doesn't work, try a new cable. Bad cables are more likely to block the scanner. Also check that a working USB device works in the port. The software installs a monitor that must be running if the buttons on the printer are going to initiate any activity. (Some set up of the software for the buttons is often needed.)

I hope this helps.

My canon MP610 printer is not responding after replacing ink

Try switch of computer and printer if not in printer list of printers. Unplug usb cable and start computer without computer connected. Them switch off computer again and plug in usb cable and then restart and after started switch on printer and Windows should find printer as a new connection and then you may need your driver disc to reset up.

Pixma mp 460 how do i re-connect tp pc

Install the drivers before connecting the printer USB.

If you have the disk, then install drivers from disk.

If you do not have the disk download driver from:Photo All-In-One Inkjet Printers - Photo All-In-One Printer

Run the driver file after you finish downloading. The software will tell you when to connect printer USB cable.
