PC cannot send data to printer

My printer prints on a parallel port. The Sharp machine prints one document and refuses to print others immediately after. On my old computer in the 'BIOS' I had to go under 'Peripherals' and set parallel port modem to ECP.I now have a new computer where the parallel ports were not installed with the motherboard, but afterwards.I cannot set the same ECP settings under the BIOS.What now?How do I get this Sharp to print continuously?I l already reinstalled the driver but problem stays.

When I set it to ECP (on my previous computer) it worked beautifully. I have not tried RAW and I don't know what driver I am using. The software came with the installation CD. I'll have a look at that RAW stuff (I presume that is also to be set in BIOS) and I'll have a look if it is a pdf driver.

What happens when you set it from ECP to RAW?

    Are using a PDF driver?

You might have some trouble using the pdf when printing. Use the PCL driver. It's more reliable.

I've installed the AL-1540CS but I'm having trouble figuring out how to scan documents and load them onto the computer with the Parallel interface. Can you help me out?

Scanning is not possible thru the parallel port. You must use the USB1.1 port in order to use the scanning feature.
The parallel port is only used for printing.
If you hook up the machine with a USB cable you can print and scan using USB. This includes color scanning.
Thank You for using Fixya.

I CAN`T SEND A FAX

Fax machines are sorta like printers, sorta like scanners, and sorta like dial up modems all wrapped into one expensive box.
1. First thing to make sure of is that you are hooked to a phone line. most fax machines have a phone handset that you can make calls from. Call someone and make sure that works. If So, you are able to connect to phone networks, and should have no trouble sending or receiving data. If you have a dead line or no sound, check the line and check the power. (its always the easy stuff that is overlooked, just check it and make sure).
2. If this fax machine has computer interface, (usb port or parallel cable port), see if you can scan with it. Drop a document into the scan area and see if the computer can scan an image from the scanner. If the scanner works, you can scan images into the fax machine to be sent to the fax number. (If your fax machine does not have a scan to computer feature, skip this.)
3. if your fax machine has a print from pc feature, try to print a document to it from your computer. If you can print, then the printer works, and you can receive faxes. (if your fax machine does not have a pc printing feature, skip this)
4. Here is how a typical fax machine works. You place the document or image into the scanner feed area. You press a big button that usually says "fax" and then, a screen pops up saying to dial the number. You dial the number and press SEND. once you press Send, the machine will scan the document, dial the number and sing a little dial up modem song awaiting a response from the receiving machine. the receiving machine acknowledges the fax, and the singing is no longer audible (but it continues because the modem song is actually data transmission/reception). after about 20-60 seconds, the fax completes and the call ends. As for the particular model you have, the functions should be about the same, though the buttons and arrangements may be different. FYI, you can send a fax straight from the PC too, if you have a dial-up fax/modem card.

Ping works, I can see the html page in the AR-205 but can't print

If you connect the machine to network via AR NB3 and EB 9, go to key operator program in the html page, hopefully the password still the default "Sharp", try test page printing. Also check the account control from the machine's panel by pressing special function, key operator program, password ( 00000 ) account control and un-check the account control for printer.

Okidata Microline 320 turbo problem

Solved this problem by going into the bios and changing the port from ECP to EPP, and then uninstalling the ECP port in device manager and replacing it with a standard parallel port configuration, no problems since doing that.

Troubles with printing . . .

Replace the communication cable (parallel cable).
If that does not solves, your PC parallel port is damaged. must replace it.
