Sony FWD-50PX1 plasma problem

Hello! I own the Sony FWD-50PX1 plasma, when I power it up the whole screen flashes on in multiple colors then goes black, I've tried to change the input on the remote but nothing happens... also I've tried to go to the menu but nothing comes up still black, but I do have power. This all started when I had workers installing a wrought Iron gate, they plugged into the power of my home... then when they were welding I noticed the screen kind of flickering whenever they would weld, I was gonna up plug it but then all of a sudden it went black and that's it... no plasma. any idea on what it could be, I had a tech come to my home and he said It was a bad board and it would cost $800.00 to fix.

Hi, my tv just turned off on me. When I turn it on the TV screen flashes and turns off again. I have a solid green light on the power button but no sound or picture. Any ideas

HI:
There are bad capacitors on the power supply that needs changing. Also check the B+ capacitors on the inverter board also for leaky caps or caps that are puffy on their tops.

Is there anywhere to purchase a HDMI card FWD-50PX1

I don't think they exist, I would try contacting Sony directly first.

Is it imperative you have HDMI? I can recommend an excellent HDMI to component video converter if you are using an HDMI only source.

Too much green color

Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.

No video from rgb inputs

usually this is a bad connection on the system board, cable, etc.  If it's not under warranty, I would check the cable first, and try multiple video sources before opening the unit.  Worst case scenario is replacing the system board where the connections reside.

your issue is more than likely in the optical assy but make sure its not the lvds cable. when technicians remove the optical assy alot of times they will forget to remove the lvds cable and it ggets damaged.

try changing the channel with the original remote or by the tv's physical controls. It sounds like it has switch to an AV channel.

Any assistance will be greatly appreiciated.

Sounds like you need a white balance adjust, call a local service center, you could do it yourself but you will need access to the factory mode, I don't know how to get into the factory mode for that model
