Wireless Lan on Lenovo Y410 not working

Hi,

My wireless Lan stopped working 1 week after I bought it. The Wireless Lan Hotkey is also not working. The bluetooth Hotkey is working though. I tried re-installing the wireless Lan but I still can't see it in the device manager.

I also tried reverting the OS (Vista) to the original factory setting. But this didn't work.

I also tried looking at the BIOS setup. But I can't see anything about wireless Lan in the menu.

SOURCE: XP does not recognize the Intel wireless network adapter

Dell has a known problem with driver conflic the best remedy is to right click on my computer click on property open hardware uninstall the driver there and restart the conputer but first make sure you download the driver from intel and burn them on a cd then when you reinstall you won't have to try to figure out if everything is downloading also in security make sure that you allow this site so that all the drivers download.
but most of the time if these driver are on a card that is micrsoft certified it will be in the driver file and will reload automaticly when you restart the computer after uninstalling and it should elimenate the driver conflic.

Please follow these steps to make it work:

1. Uninstall the wireless driver using Add/Remove Programs
2. Uninstall the Hotkey utility using its Setup program (uninstall is an option in the Setup app; it doesn't appear in Add/Remove Programs control panel)
3. Restart
4. Delete the Hotkey folders from C:\Program Files\Lenovo\PkgMgr [key step!]

Hi durgaaprosad,

Based on your situation. I suggest trying the following steps:

1. You can download the wireless and lan driver from here:

http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=600154

2. go to Networking: Wireless LAN section and make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system.

3. After downloading the wireless driver driver install it and then restart your computer.

4. You can use wireless connection in absence of LAN connection.

Hope it helps.

Cannot connect wireless why

Hi,

You have to elaborate sir, can it detect wireless networks or not? if the computer can no longer detect wireless network then it could be that the wireless switch is disabled so to enable it,normally we press Fn+F5 which is the universal code to enable/disable wireless devices whether bluetooth or wireless LAN card..

I want to install windows xp drivers for lenovo 3000 y410 laptop.... i tried the drivers in lenovo website buut they are not working properly ..

You did not specify which drivers you were needing.

http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=6

This web site has drivers for XP and Vista 32 bit for your laptop. As with most laptops, there are multiple drivers for the same category of device - Wireless LAN has 3 different drivers for XP alone.

You will need to download ALL available drivers and try each one. The internal chipset is typically not listed and you will need to "guess" which driver will work. Downloading all and trying each one is the only sure way of getting the device to work.
