Question about Fuji FinePix S5200 / S5600 Digital Camera

1 Answer

S5200 does not correct for light conditions anymore.

Not sure what happened, but my S5200 no longer automatically corrects for lighting conditions, regardless of what mode the camera is in. So now all the pictures come out very dark. Any Suggestions?

You should reset to default the camera settings if you're not really sure what to change...but I thing the exposure has to do with the lighting conditions and also the picture mode(indoor, cloudy, night, sunny etc.) See if any of these will help you.

What is the S5600 long exposure setting

Long exposure means a longer shutter speed, letting light onto the sensor for a longer period of time. This increases the brightness of the image but also will cause motion blur if the camera and subject are not stationary.

Why my z1275 color is off sometimes ?

Your camera can be used in SCN mode. There you can choose different settings. Whit these settings some colour creation can take place.
Also in the P and or M mode this can happen.
If your camera is in Automatic it should operate correct.
If you choose a scene, choose the correct one. Don't use museum, when you are outside or beach somewhere inside. not even with bright lights.
I hope this helps.

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500. I have to depress the shutter release button several time to get it to snap a picture. The indicator light shows a fully charged battery.

Did you change (unnoticed perhaps) anything to the settings?
Be aware your camera needs a little time to focus. And when conditions are bad, like little contrast in the subject or bad light conditions, the camera needs more time to focus.
Please try to shoot in automatic mode. Then when you have a subject press the shutter release button half way. Look if you framed correct and then press fully. This way every time the camera should click.

Are you sure you are using fully loaded battery's, because most camera's will automaticly shut down, when the battery voltage drops under a certain voltage. Sure your battery is still in tip top condition?
Don't use NiCD batteries, only alkaline and Ni-MH rechargable batteries should be used.
Page 15 of the manual shows how you can find out if you are using correct (with enough charge) batteries.

How do you find the white balance on this camera?

This camera does not have a customizable white balance. It does have some presets -- they are:

  • Auto (default)-automatically corrects white
balance. Ideal for general picture taking.

  • Daylight-for pictures in natural lighting.
  • Tungsten-corrects the orange cast of household
light bulbs. Ideal for indoor pictures under tungsten or
halogen lighting without flash.

  • Fluorescent-corrects the green cast of fluorescent
lighting. Ideal for indoor pictures under fluorescent
lighting without flash.

To access them, press the [Menu] button and look for White Balance -- the icon is a Sun and Light Bulb symbol.

Malfunction D80 showing erratic "Lo " message,

if you're in a P mode it means it in low light condition. whne you see the Letters "LO" and take a shot it woudl take time before the camerea releases the shutter because it's automatically exposing the image and exposure may take longer depending on the lighting condition.

The CCD is dead (most likely). Nothing the user can do to correct. Must be serviced. Get an estimate. Approx $100 US, unless covered by warranty.
