Since a SD memory card is about the same size [width and thickness] as a Memory Stick, I doubt there will ever be an adapter available between these two formats. There just isn't any room unless they came up with a very large adapter which would stick out and be unwieldly. You can get Compact Flash adapters (which are much larger) from a company called Pretec for about US$59.00, plus I'm sure there are others. I use a full sized PC Card adapter on my laptop to convert between the SD Memory card for my Axim X5 and the SmartMedia card for my digital camera and MP3 player.

Cannot download pics off camera. Computer not recognizing camera Cannot find software to re-install

If your computer does not recognize the camera when you plug it in to the computer and you do not have access to the software needed, you will need to find another way to get the pictures onto the computer straight from the memory card. If your computer has a memory card reader, use that because that's the easiest way to access pictures on a memory card. If your computer does not have a memory card reader, you can buy a USB adapter that your memory card can fit into and your computer can read through USB. They are cheap and useful. Here's a good one for 12.40 from that reads many types of memory cards including:

MMCmobile, SD, SDHC, MMC, MMCplus, RS-MMC; MiniSD,miniSDHC; microSD, microSDHC; MMCmicro; CF Type I and II, Microdrive; MemoryStick, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick Pro Duo; MemoryStick Micro (M2)

It may be that the memory stick is incompatable, NOT all memorysticks will work, or the existing stick has died!

I cannot formate my sony 1gb memory stick pro duo when i inserted in my computer it shows it cannot use it before formate disk when i tried to formate it shows window was unable to complete the format

Windows formatting tools are not good enough to format Sony memorysticks.
You need to use special formatting tool
Download that from here:

If this will not be able to format your memorystick - call sony support and report that repair of memorystick is necessary. It is a hardware fault with memorystick and it needs to be repaired or replaced.

Axim x5 sd not reading

I would think it is having more trouble with the adapter than the actual card. It could also be the storage size of the card that is the problem as well. Try a regular 2GB SD Card and see if it works. If it does, then it is probably just the adapter.

SD there a limitation for the Axim?

The limitation is only what is available. Currently, the biggest SD card you can easily get would be a 512mb, though the 1gb's are on the way.

DSC F-505 doesn't support Mac OS?

SInce the only storage option on the F505 is Memorystick, you would need a memorystick reader. Sony has a MemoryStick/PCMCIA adapter card that would fit in standard PCCard slots. Once the images are in your computer they are standard JPEGs. Go to the Cybershot forum on and ask what the F55 Mac users do. It also uses only memorysticks.
