Question about Specialty Electrics

1 Answer

Turntable Problem Whenever the microwave door is open, the turntable spins. The microwave (Panasonic 1200W) doesn't appear to be working with no digital numbers appearing on the front and no action when I push any of the buttons. Upon opening the door however, the light inside comes on and the turntable continues to run which shows that the problem is with the machine and not the electrical supply.

The problem fixed itself. I suppose it is possible that someone (not me!) dialed in a very long program such as sensor cooking which continued until the last bit of water had evaporated and the sensor detected that its work was done. That still doesn't explain how come one can't abort a process from running but I guess I can live with that until the next inexplicable problem arises. In the meantime, I can use my machine as is so don't require any assistance but thanks for offering.
Best regards

My whirpool dryer won't spin

It can be due to few reasons and so you can check on them.
1. Check the main power line, trace to the main control switch and its output. If not the switch is faulty.
2. Check the working of the motor, check the capacitor to the motor.
3. Check manually if the drive is free and is not jammed or struck up. If so you will need to overhaul the mechanism.
4. Check the door switch is the switch is faulty the motor will not be turned on.

We just moved into a new house, and whenever I use

It sounds like it could be one of the following issues:

1. Bad wiring to the bathroom receptacle - this should be a GFCI outlet.

2. There is an overload somewhere on the same circuit - try the dryer with nothing else turned on.

3. The hair dryer may be bad or have a bad cord, plug, etc. Hair dryers can also become plugged (the air inlet screen) and overheat.

4. There could be loose or other bad wiring somewhere in the circuit.

If you are not familiar with working with electricity, it would be best to call a qualified electrician. They are the pros and can correct the problem.

My light burned out in my Panasonic microwave. Panasonic says to take it to a shop, but I want to put the new lightbulb in myself. Can I?

You usually have to diassemble the microwave to change the bulb, which is why they recommend bringing it to a shop. Hope this helps

Aiwa turntable PX E855 squeaking may need oil

lift off the rubber platter, the turntable should just lift off but there may be a circlip to remove around the spindle if so use needle nose plyers.

When the turntable is off you should be able to see where the noise is coming from by using your fingers.

Only use light machine oil very sparingly

Will the alarm go off or not?

Hi, alarms can be programmed to chime/not chime etc. Simple way is actually test it just to be sure. Set the alarm and try the door. If it doesnt work, then the door sensor could be faulty OR that chanel could have been programmed to be bypassed. Will require the user man for programming. Best of luck

Door won't close light blinks

Your garage door has photoeye sensors that are blocked or misaligned. Look for a two devices one on each side of the door opening near the bottom. They usually have an indicator light on one of them that is on when they are unblocked.

Craftsman Garage Door Opener

unplug the power of your door opener for a few minutes and plug it back in. Try the remote control that you have and see if it opens the door. If it doesn't open the door, reprogram [learn] the remote control you have and that is it. The other remote will be useless ... and you just proved it to yourself!

Microwave Power Relay

G5J-1-TP-M-DC18 should be the same as G5J-1-TP-M-ER18, which is found in Panasonic commercial microwave ovens.

Even if there are slight physical differences, most microwave boards have extra holes so different relays can be used.

In more extreme cases, a comparable relay can be used if you drill a hole or two to fit it.

Then I always hot glue them in place after soldering just to hold them better.

The Panasonic part number is AEG5J1EM18B and you can get either in one of these two places: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/epartr or http://www.wehaveparts.com
