    I have the exact same problem with my 42 inch digital lifestyle television.

    I have the same problem. My original television arrived and hummed to the point that I couldn't watch the television ... it was very annoying. Since it was under warranty, I sent it back and they replaced it with another one. The second unit has exactly the same problem, but worse. Corion tells me that I just have to learn to "turn it out" while I'm watching television. WHAT???????

    I have the same problem and it is driving me nuts!

  • Bluereef Jan 27, 2009

    Worst investment I ever made. It has been replaced 3 times and the humming is worse then ever. HSN refuses to refund my money even though we returned the first television for replacement within 30 days. I have had to sit home waiting for fedx pick ups and delieverys 6 times! Not to mention my husband breaking his back to get it on and off the wall mount. HSN washed their hands of it quoting their 30 day return policy so it is in dispute with my credit card company. We have replaced all the cables, the DVR box too and nothing helps. Any other suggestions please let me know!

I am so happy to announce that I just solved this problem (no need to return the tv - ugh). I went on and bought a Zenith Digital TV Tuner Converter Box - just got it and plugged the Cable (Comcast) into the "Tuner Converter Box" and then the cable that comes out of the tuner box into the back of the TV. There is a very slight sound still eminating from the tv but it is much better and definitely livable...

I've heard this could be a mismatch of volume, if you have a cable box with a volume setting. The cable volume could be too high.

Lg tv humming noise when tv is on

The humming noise is most likely coming from the power supply.

If the unit is worth the repair cost ( Over $100.00 ) you should have it repaired.

If not, deal with the noise until it goes out.

Humming or squealing noise when tv is turned on (model 32LG30)

Be sure you have installed the stand scresw weather or not you are using the stand.
The back panel can vibrate without the screws.

Other sources of a hum are the coils on the power supply.
The power supply would have to be replaced to solve the issue.

Humming noise through Tv speakers. Goes away if I mute sound?

If the noise is coming in through the onboard tuner then repair may the only option. If you have a DVD or VCR and can connect the line level inputs (look like stereo connections) then do so and use that input, if the sound persists there then it is likely the audio circuitry - also a repair item.
Bypassing the TV sound system involves connecting your cable box, DVD or VCR (using the tuner from that unit select channels) audio output to a stereo system and then the TV becomes a big monitor (picture only)

My lcd tv makes a humming noise

Try removing all cables going to the TV except the power cord. Power on the TV and press mute. If you have any unwanted noise, then you have a defective TV and since it is new, you should get an exchange. If there is no noise with the A/V cables removed, then you might have hooked the source (cable box/DVD Player) into the wrong inputs of the TV.

More often than not, the humming sound on any electronic device is brought about by the AC side of the power supply not only of the device itself but also all other equipment it is attached to. In your particular case, it maybe introduced into the system from:
  • (coaxial) cable TV leadin;
  • connections of DVD, VCR, game consoles and others;
  • electrical noise from lamp dimmers, lights with electronic ballasts, wireless phones.
It is interesting to note, that the noise could be from other appliances plug in the same circuit as the TV, you of course could try plugging it into another outlet or branch. In some instances, you could even try filtered regulators similar to those used by desktop computers.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Hum on tv

Your problem is very simply. You have a bad ground. You need to purchase a plug adapter. The AC cord you plug into the wall. Must change from a 3 prong to a 2 prong. You can get this at the 99 cents store.

Best regards
