My ipod is disabled.how can i unlock my ipod?

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helvetica} Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

If your iPod is locking you out, there are a few steps you can try:

One:
Press and hold the Play/Pause button to put it to sleep. When you wake it, the Enter Code screen appears.

Two:
If that does not work, then
Connect iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.

And Three:

If the neither of the first 2 options does not help resolve the issue, you will have to perform a restore
I have a link here for you from Apple Support directly regarding an iPod restore process. Use this as your last resort:

Link: Restoring your iPod back to factory settings

Let me know if this helps. It would be great to get a reply from you that your iPod is finally unlocked!

You need to plug it with your PC, and Restore it through I-tunes, thats the only possible way so far.

My 30gb ipod is locked

restore your ipod, it will solve the problem.
Here is the REAL solution. Ending ipodservice.exe will NOT WORK.

1) Plug your ipod into the computer using firewire or USB.
2) Open MY COMPUTER
3) Wait until the ipod shows up as a drive letter
4) Right click on the ipod drive letter and do a ' quick format ' (Now the ipod is just a plain windows hard drive)
5) When it is complete, run the ipod updater and do a Restore. This puts the ipod software back onto it
6) Remove the ipod from the usb or firewire port, plug it into the wall power supply and allow it to finish the update

If I've helped one person, then I'm happy.

Unlock my ipod

I assume the unlocking your ipod is the combination that locks the screen and not the little white tab on the top of the iPod. By plugging the iPod into itunes it should unlock it. By restoring your iPod you erase the lock but also your music. If may stay unlocked when you remove it from the computer. Good luck.

Unlocking a 30gb ipod

The great thing about unlocking iPods is that it is very easy, and almost never wipes out the data.

To unlock the iPod, simply plug it into a computer with iTunes. The iPod should unlock, or at least display the "Do not disconnect" screen. It will not automatically sync with a foreign (other computer than it was originally synced with) computer without first asking you, and if you click no, the iPod should be unlocked.

If this does not solve the problem, notify me and I will try to find a different method of unlocking the iPod.

Happy to help
