I too have the same problem with my Foxconn 755/760A01 motherboard but mine started with the date change from BST to GMT I get the CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded which always loads to Wed Jan 01 2003, I change and save it in CMOS but at next bootup it goes back to 2003, should I change the CMOS battery?

    Many thanks

    Tony.

Normally Checksum errors mean that the Battery on the board may not be holding a charge any longer. Best suggestion that I can give is to replace that battery. You can buy it in any electronics store. Just make sure to buy one with the EXACT same size. If that still does not work you may ahve to update your BIOS you can message me about that.

Changed cpu multiplier from 17 to 19 now have blank screen on foxconn a88gmx, cant reset as cannot access bios

Try clearing the CMOS --- the down side is your lose all your setting --- the up side is you should be
able to access your BIOS

Clear CMOS Jumper: CLR_CMOS1 ( Located near CMOS battery )
The motherboard uses CMOS RAM to store the basic hardware information (such as BIOS data,
date, time information, hardware password...etc.). Clear CMOS data is the fast way to go back to
factory default when the BIOS settings were mistakenly modified.
The steps to clear CMOS data are :
1. Turn off the computer, unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
2. Remove jumper cap from pins 2-3, put it onto pins 1-2 to short them.
This will clear CMOS data.
3. Return the setting to its original with pins 2-3 closed.
4. Plug in the power cord to your computer and turn it on.
5. Go to BIOS Setup to configure new system as described in next chapter.
Clear Jumper on pins 1 & 2

  • Disconnect the power cable before adjusting the jumper settings.
  • Do not clear the CMOS while the system is turned on.

Usb not allow usb 2.0

There is no jumper settings about it. There is somethign a problem with your USB ports in your motherboard and it could be a hardware defect. To solve this, buy an expansion USB card and plug it to the available slots of your motherboard. Hope this can help you. Please don't forget to rate me. Thanks..

Motherboard driver

That is probably an ECS motherboard but I can't be absolutely certain as I didn't see your exact specified model # on their site. I bet there is another # somewhere on the motherboard that will allow you to determine exact model #. To that end I recommend downloading and installing SciSoft Sandra ( newest version ) from here
This program should help you determine exact manufacturer and model #, and if it is an ECS motherboard as I suspect that it may be, then visit this site to find the motherboard on manufacturer website and download the drivers there.
In the long run you will be happy you used drivers from a manufacturers website vice the many so-called driver sites on the web. A lot less hassle.

VIA P4V845 CHIPSET MOBO FOR iNTEL p4 CPU PROBLEMS

Hi, USB issues - Probably the BIOS. Have you checked the BIOS version? VIA P4V845? Also I get the impression that P4V845 have 2 versions, SX & SM, that it is an Intel chipset based mb and not VIA and that it was probably by one of the OEM vendors for Pc Partner. In any case, should you want to flash/update your BIOS, this might be of help to you > http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/topic8315-15.html Good luck and kind regards.
