All 4 igniters are sparking and won't stop. I took of the knobs (very difficult and the posts are all lined up with the flat side down. Now what do I do?

The sparking module contacts are stuck on either from long time use or from humitity enter in it. So it can be dry out using a hair dryer and if you still have the problem then you need to replace it. We have here the parts diagram for you

Gas top range ignition stuck on sparking

The switches that are causing the sparking are located under the knobs that you turn the burners on. Lift the knobs off and you should be able to see them.

If you have just cleaned the range the switches may have gotten wet. You can try to dry them out with the hair dryer, or just let them sit for 24 hours with the range unplugged. If they continue to spark after that you will need the switches replaced.

Ignitors constantly click.

Hi, it is possible, that your spark module, need replacing, but it could be other things too. could be faulty ignitor switch, whenever you turn knob to light burner, it activate switch, remove burners, lift top off, you will see, that each knob are connected to valve with two, or some model has one wire, connected to it, check for any breaks in wiring harness, could be something simple like bruise wire touching cooker body, etc. also turn knob and light any burner, turn knob clockwise all the way, let burner light, then gently turn knob counter clockwise and listen to hear if clicking stop, if clicking continue until burner goes off, it's possible you'll need to replace spark module, sometimes, they get short circuited, takes about 30 mins to replace module, $90/ hr. oouch, big companies, does that price, includes, price of module? can you get a regular repair guy, ask a friend they might know one. good luck.

Gas cook top- keeps sparking with gas knob in off position.

try unplugging unit from electrical suppl, leave unplug for the overnight, its possible that the electrode has gotten wet from watrer or grease and will dry out and stop sparking. give it a try before setting a service call.

When i turn on the oven the top hobs keep clicking on my canon cooker

Hello Brian
Welcome to Fixya.

You said, when you turn on the oven the top knobs keep clicking on my canon cooker.

If you mean the electronic ignition keeps clicking when you turn the oven, It sounds like one of the switches that is controlled by the knobs, is stuck and malfunctioning! It sounds like it needs to be replaced.
There are 5 electronic igniter's on a 4 burner gas range, and the fifth is in the oven.

Let me know how you do.
Please remember to leave a rating when you finish.
Thank You, Huuum

Electric spark for gas range burner is non stop

Turning any knob starts the spark via a switch behind each which should disengage when the (any) knob is turn further.
One of your switches is stuck.

I think you should be able to remove the range-top for access and find the offending switch.
It is probably gummy from a spill and is no longer in solid contact with the cam that operates it.

A solvent/lubricant such as WD-40 sprayed on the plunger of the switch once you can see it and operating the knob back and forth should free it up.

It might be wise to turn off the gas supply while tinkering with the range - blow your house away and the range won't matter. :-(

Does the knob control both the gas and spark, try turning on the knob only, if it starts to spark right away then it is possible that the switch is bad. because most of these units are designed where you turn on the gas then push in and hold the knob to ignite then release and spark should stop.
