Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I have connected my Belkin wireless adapter to my laptop computer and where can I get the Network key?

The network key will be dependent on the settings of the router providing you with the wireless signal, not the adapter receiving it.

How do i reset my Log in to router

Logon with the current ID/password for the router, and then change the password.

Or, do a "factory reset" of the router, to reload the "default" ID/password.
Then, logon, and change the password.

I got a pop up saying that the password for my wireless router needed to be changed. I must have changed it but I don't remember the new password and now I have no connection unless I have my laptop...

Follow the printed (and online) instructions to do a "factory-reset" of the router.
This will reload the default ID/password, and you'll need to configure both the "wired" and the "wireless" settings.

Note that it could have been a computer-virus that created that "pop-up" window!

Your wireless network must be secured
You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
Is there any computer online using the router.
check the IP address on that computer.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings.
Click Here for more information about the routers and network

How do i find the security key on my 2wire 2701hg-b wireless modem

I own a 2wire gateway. It really depends.

If the 2wire is brand new:
the Wireless key is on the bottom of the modem in between 2 bar codes in brackets. Enter that and you should be good to go.

If you set up customer wireless password:
this is the one thing that stinks about the 2wire, if a customer password was set, you can not see it because it is covered by ********* so there is no getting the password from inside the modem.
what you would have to do is open a web browser and then enter in 192.168.1.254 into the browser.
then go to home network and then after that go to wireless settings at the top of the screen.
then 1/2 way down you will see were it says use custom pass phrase.
that is were you would enter in a custom 10 digit number into the field.
ONLY NUMBERS!!!
Then press save at the bottom of the screen.
!!NOTE!!
If there are other wireless devices that are currently working and if you change this all the other devices will have to be setup with the new wireless information.

*Yes to all the other tech people out there, you can use HEX 10-23 digit but this makes it easier for everyone else!*

How do i seperate my tower from my router?

Now I understand your request, but I need more information.
Is your router a wireless router?
How many computers do you have and do they only have LAN cards and/or wireless cards?
What computer equipment do you want to move?
Can you run a LAN cable into the other room?
Based on this information then I can advise you on what equipment you need to purchase (if any) and how to configure and set-up your computer network.

Reconfigure wireless card

I believe he's wrong. But the wireless card which only does B needs to match the router which could be A,B, or G. And B has some serious range limitations. You also need to manually address the card or the router has to be configured for DHCP. Get past those issues and it should setup normally.

Adapter failed to find Linksys router......no connection

I received no help..it was a wasted 2 hrs trying to understand the
technicians....I was promised that they could help me and the fee would be waived if
they couldn't....I have contested the amount with MC credit and explained that
I received no service. Don't know if I will purchase or recommend any
Linksys products after this awful experience. I wouldn't buy any program that asks for money up front and then doesn't deliver.....bad company and questionable value

Capture portal software

What you are discussing here is called a "WiFi Hotspot" and isn't platform specific for people wishing to connect (so from the point of view of people connecting to your wireless network, it doesn't matter if you're running Windows or Linux).

A quick google search reveals a number of vendors, including http://www.hotspotsystem.com/ who have a variety of types of software for creating wifi hotspots.
