Error 5 access is de ied

This error code is usually a network error code that tells you that you are trying to execute a network command when you are not at the level of an network administrator. If you are administrator it may be that you are administrator of your local machine, but not the network. In some cases you can use the local administrator as the network administrator (they function the same) and in others not.

If you are certain you are an administrator...logged in as an administrator...you may need to run a command prompt (cmd) as an administrator. To do this navigate to the cmd (Dos prompt) icon in your Start, Programs, (Accessories?) folder, right mouse button click on it, select "run as administrator", say "okay" and then issue your network command from the prompt.

good luck

Network issue

Hello

This is an unusual error. Error Code 1236 - The network connection was aborted by the local system.

There is no single issue that causes this error code, so we need to verify all of the networking basics are covered and working.

1. Verify the IP address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway are fully entered and / or populated by the DHCP server. Click START, then RUN, type in CMD then click the OK button. Type IPCONFIG /ALL - verify the three fields all have valid info for your network.

2. Verify you can see the local network - including other computers and network devices. This will rule out the possibliity that this computer cannot see any network devices and not just the shared folders

3. Log the user out and have another user that can access the shared folders log into this comptuer and try to access the shares. The user profile could be corrupted and preventing the user from accessing the shared folders. IF the new user cannot access the shared folders, then it is the PC / OS causing the issue. IF they can access the shared folders, backup the original user's data, delete their profile and have them log in again to create a new profile.

It is always recommended to upgrade Windows XP to Service Pack 3 - unless you have a very specific program that will not run on SP3.

Windows Vista not accessing shared folders on network. It keeps asking to log onto network PC and keeps saying cannot log in when trying accounts on the network pc. Both PC's are on the same workgroup and...

This is a usuall problem when connecting Vista and XP, specially when your vista is a 64-bit and your XP is 32-bit. What you need to do is to manually map the folders on the vista by opening windows explorer and then clicking on Map network drive, you need to put in the exact folder location. Next thing is you need to add user not only activationg the allow access, you need to add the user on the shared folder, you are only using workgroups, unlike domain networks, you just have to give them permission.

myfreeze.com is a VERY bad company. Google them, and read some of the reviews. They are underhanded and slimy, and I spend HOURS, EVERY DAY, removing their damage. They will load your PC with spyware other malware, and all of these additions can oftentimes call genuine viruses to the party. This is what sounds like happened in your case.

Save this file:

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

Run it. DO NOT STOP IT. It may take a long time to run... Say no to the Microsoft Recovery Console installation. If asked to reboot, DO SO!

After running this, if you then have internet access, download and install Spybot, found here:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

and SUPERAntiSpyWare Pro, found here:

http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

(Get the pro version, it'll run for 30 days.)

Update both of them, run them both at the same time! It's going to drag your computer to a halt, but it's gonna find what it's after. If one finishes before the other, and asks to reboot, DON'T. Let the later finishing one do the reboot. Spybot will probably ask to run on sartup, allow it to do so.

Yahoo -host down???

I use yahoo for my ATT DSL mail and I'm not having any issues so I suspect something changed recently on your computer. Have you downloaded any Windows service packs (like XP SP3) or any security patches for Internet Explorer? If you think you have then I would run System Restore (start>all programs (or programs if on classic view)>accessories>system tools>system restore then choose the restore my computer to an earlier state. When asked which restore point to use choose one the day before you started having problems. If that doesn't fix it you have to look at if anything else has changed on your computer or internet setup. Like did you get a new router or DSL modem or install a software firewall? If so those could be blocking yahoo. If you are trying to do this thru a corporate network your administrator could have blocked you too, I know at my job I haven't had access to yahoo for years! If you aren't on a corporate network and nothing else has changed, your router could have flaked out, power off the router and/or modem for a least a minute then plug them back in and try again.
Hope that helps!

Two Scenarios here 1) It is a notebook setup for a network and 2) Not on a network - you have setup the password yourself for your own security purposes.
In the first instance this can be easily solved by requesting your network administrator to reset your password. In the second scenario you can do three things 1) Re-Format and Install the OS again (in which case you will loose all data (2) Get a good password cracker (downloadable everywhere "Google-it" (3) Keep on trying until you get lucky (in the 1st scneario Keep on trying until you get lucky will not work as you will get logged-out on the 3rd or so attempt. Sorry but your'e in a bit of a spot and there is no easy way out except if it is the first scenario.
Good luck
