Remote will not program

My remote does not function properly! I have tried new batteries and even used the set up bottom to reprogram the remote to the receiver code (0720). The remote picks up and programs the codes for my other components, but not for the receiver. I've even tried using other codes in the instruction manuel for a Kenwood Reciver (0027;0186;0042;0077;1570). Any suggestions?

The controller is not turning on...even after changing battery...do I need a replacement?

After a battery replacement, the remote control will reset itself, when you insert the battery again. You have to set it up again with proper code; for it to work properly. Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window" to get gathered related posts.

Rca 24" tv remote won't operate tv

If set turns on with the power button on set the remote is : not set to TV, not programmed for the set, has bad batteries or is bad.

If it even works one function it may need to be reprogrammed or taken apart to see if works---you can test the remote by pointing it at a digital camera with a LCD screen and pressing buttons to see if it makes the screen flash on the camera.

Test the remote first

Remote will not work tv.

A working TV remote is a security blanket that allows us the peace of mind of knowing that we don't have to get up unless nature calls or the house catches on fire. People are more likely to spend more time and energy to fix their TV remote than to get up and change the channel. There are a number of simple fixes that can ease your mind when your TV remote is not working.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Easy Instructions Things You'll Need:

  • New Batteries
  1. Check the batteries. Make sure the batteries are in correctly and, if they are, replace the batteries. If the batteries are dead or are not in correctly, your remote will not respond and the LED light will not illuminate when a button is pressed. Make sure the TV is plugged in. An unplugged TV will not respond to any remote.
  2. Check the selected input to make sure the remote is set on the TV and not some other device programmed into the remote, such as your DVD player, VCR, or video game console.
  3. Reprogram the sync code. If you are using a universal remote, it may have deprogrammed, leaving the remote and TV out of sync.
  4. Unplug the TV for a few minutes. During a power surge, a TV can become "confused." Unplugging it for a few minutes will give the TV the break it needs to sort everything out and work properly with your remote.
  5. Use another remote on the TV. Program a universal remote to work with the TV. If the TV does not respond, the problem is likely with the TV and not the remote control.

I have a Vermont Casting (Honeywell) remote with 6 buttons. Ireplaced the batteries from the summer and it does not function. the Room Temp shows, the off signal shows and when you press the on button...

Hi,

It's unlikely that you need a new remote. It simply needs to be reprogrammed with the correct code again. Remotes can "forget" the programmed codes if the batteries run down completely or if the new batteries aren't inserted quickly enough.

Reprogram the codes and it should work.

Please post back if you need further assistance.

My Sony remote is RM-YD024 - I am trying to find the code for a Denon DVD player, Norm.

Here are all the codes for your Denon DVD player.

30490, 30634, 31634

Just in case you don't have the manual I also included the steps to input the codes.
Hope this helps

Follow these steps to program the remote control.
NOTE: Even though the FUNCTION buttons are labeled for specific components, they can be programmed to operate any type of equipment that is compatible with this remote control. For example, the BD/DVD function can be programmed to operate a VCR, AV receiver, etc.
  1. Turn on the component to be programmed.
  2. On the remote control, press and hold the INPUT button.
  3. While holding INPUT button, press the FUNCTION button for the desired component.
  4. Release both buttons.
  5. NOTE: The FUNCTION button will blink for approximately 30 seconds or until a code is entered.
  6. Using the number pad, enter the component's manufacturer code.
  7. NOTE: If more than one code number is listed for the manufacturer, enter one code at a time until you find one that works.
  8. Press the ENT button.
  9. NOTE: The FUNCTION will blink twice if the programming is successful, if not, it will blink five times.
  10. Point the remote control at the component.
  11. Press the component POWER button to verify operation.
NOTES:
  • If a new code number is entered, the code number previously entered will be erased.
  • When the batteries are replaced, the programmed codes may be erased. It may be necessary to reprogram the remote after replacing the batteries.
  • Some product functions may not be able to be controlled by the remote control. Use the remote control provided with the component.
  • In some rare cases, you may not be able to operate your non-Sony equipment with the supplied remote control. This is because your equipment may use a code that is not provided with this remote control. In this case, use the remote control that was provided with the equipment or purchase a universal remote control that has a learning function.
  • If programming fails, it may be necessary to reset the remote control. To reset the remote control, remove the batteries and press each button on the remote control twice.

Did you actually go to the power head and push the program button, then the remote button?

Is there a small wire hanging down from the power head? It's the antenna wire.
