After your battery is fully charged, press the review button. The camera should power on and the lens should automatically retract.

Try to remove the battery and let the camera sit for a few minutes and reinsert the battery to reset the camera

I dropped my camera and now the lens wont close. Everytime I turn it on it says "lens error 111,0,0,28. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:

Lens Error.

I've had this camera for 2 years and have had some problems as well. The lens error message has happened to me twice, and 1 out of the 4 small buttons wont work so I cant see the pictures I have taken. I have also had to exchange it two times because of this, and now my warranty is over and I either have to send it in again, or buy a new one. One thing I suggest you doing is either exchange the camera (if you still can) and get a new one with better usability and quality or just send it in for fixing. I had to wait for about 2-3 weeks to get it back and now one of the small buttons dont work; so right now I cant see any of the pictures I've taken.  Just make sure that you still have a warranty on it so that it wont cost you a lot of money.  I hope that this has helped a little bit  :)

Zoom error

worked on allot of fuji's. first detease, a gear is slipping in the lens retract assembly due to a crack or wear or jam

2nd guest .. zoom errors means its really stuck tight

the gears can be ordered and replaced and one more possibility is that the motor that drives the gear is bad
Also if dropped or zoom lens jammed hard... lens assembly needs total realignment or replacing..

Lens wont close.

A lens error on these can happen after a drop as you said had happened. It's best to have it go into a service center, they can service the camera and replace the broken part and have you your camera working perfectly again. The one that many people go with for the Canon Powershots is: www.camerasandparts.com They are not much at all and they do excellent work. They're about half the price of what Canon wants and they include all of the service, parts and everything else. If you need help with it, they'd be the place. Good luck with the problem.

Lens Error, Restart

Hi

What you are seeing is a generic stuck lens error message, turning off the camera and turning it on again will not fix the lens unfortunately.

Your lens needs to be cleaned or repaired, and if it cant be repaired it needs to be replaced. There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.

Fixya rules prevent me from giving you a link to anything off Fixya that would help you fix your camera.

Good luck from....

Cannon Power shot SD630 Lens Problem

I had the same problem, tried different things but this is what worked.

I put the camera flat on its "back" (screen down, lens up). Looking down at the lens I could see that it was slightly off center. I pushed the lens towards the center and down, forcing it to close. Once it was centered I was able to turn it on and off no problem.
