Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
The only thing you can do in that case is a factory reset, doing so will mean you will have to set the router up again with the WEP password for the wireless signal.
To set the router back to factory specifications: using three hands, hold the router face to you in one hand, pull out the power plug out of the back of the router with another hand, press the reset switch with a straightened out paper clip with another hand, THEN whilst holding the router in one hand, holding down the reset switch with a paperclip in another hand, replace the power plug with another hand and keep holding down the reset switch for 15 seconds.
I do this very simple three handed operation almost every day.
you can access the routers setup page via 192.168.1.1 with admin as the user name and leave the password blank.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If you can't recall your user name, you can either look in the /Users folder (the directories are named by user), or run "niutil -list . /users".
Also, on older systems the /etc/rc script isn't available, apparently. If that second step fails, try mounting and starting the base services manually:
I've had to do this a couple of times for friends when they've bought a second hand machine, and once when I had a momentary brain lapse and forgot my own password. Works like a charm.
