Sure. Right click on "my computer", and open properties at the bottom, then click the hardware tab, then the device manager. Once you're in the device manager, click on the plus sign next to the network connections, here you will see the wireless card. Double click on the wireless card, then in the drivers tab you will see an uninstall button. It will ask you if you want to uninstall this device, click yes, then reboot.

Hi my wireless connection on advent roma 1000 laptop keeps turning on off

Hi

have you tried all your windows updates this may offer up a newer update for the wireless driver
or
go to computer properties/device manager
scroll down to the wireless driver
double click it and go to the driver tab
try to update the driver from there

if you can please uninstall it
and restart the laptop and hopefully windows will reload the wireless driver correctly for you

if not plug in a ethernet wire from your laptop to your router to make sure you can get online
and click on this link and download and install the wireless driver

I just bought an Acer Aspire 5740G and was advised that i need to download a driver to make the wireless card work. I dont know what to look for in the device manager to find the manufacturer of the card....

Hi Cyber - Your new machine will have one of three possible brand WiFi adapters installed.

They are Intel, Broadcom or Atheros. one of them will show up as part of the device name in device manager. When you get the brand you can get the necessary drivers at this LINK.

Have fun with your machine and thanks for using Fix Ya.

Im sorry but you will never get 54 on your card toughs are theoretical maximum speeds and I have never seen a system actually achieve them the actual speeds received by wireless devices are actually much lower and 11 is a normal speed wile running over wireless. Im sure this isnt what you wanted to here and I am sorry but it pretty much comes down to manufactures lieing by telling you it goes to speeds that can never be reached.

I hope this helped.

Thank you,

Wireless LAN

You can tell if its the driver by going into Device manager. Start>right click on My Computer>click on Manage>then find device manager in the left plane window. Look down the list of hardware and find network adapter. Click on the plus sign and it should show you are card with 802.1xx on it, that's your wireless lan card, if there is a yellow, red or black symbol next to it then just right click on it and choose :"reinstall driver" see if that helps. If everything looks fine then let me know there is one more true way to check if it is your wireless card or something else. If you have any questions let me know. Pls rate this solution.

My wireless on my inspiron 1501 has stopped working please help

Check Device Manager to see if the Wireless device is working and not disabled. If not you should install the driver again.
If it appears to be OK the check the settings, check it against the one on the working computer.

Cant connect to my wireless network anymore???

NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller drivers may have messed up your network drivers , since your network card is broadcom or intel pro, and it is not there.

Try reinstalling the wireless lan drivers.

You can download the wireless network card driver from link below:

Select software and drivers

In there you find different wireless drivers, download and install them all, the computer will automatically chose the correct ones.

You will have to enter your wireless network key again after reinstalling drivers.
