I wouldnt, it usually soaks the dirt into the filter, try using a shop vac with a dust brush attachment that is the easist and cleanist way to do it.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello! Please follow the instructions below to clean the lifetime Hepa filter on your Elite Rewind.
Press on the tab located on the side of the filter cover to remove.
Remove the HEPA filter and brush with the combination tool to clean or tap side of filter against a trash receptacle. Return the HEPA filter into the filter cavity.
3. Align tab on filter cover with slot. Press cover closed until you hear a snap.
