Battery/charging issue The computer wont charge the battery. It will work with the battery(which is at 75% now), but when I plug up the a/c adapter it switches power modes correctly to save the battery life, but it wont charge it back up?

This generally indicates that the battery is worn out and needs replaced. I would also bet that the battery light is flashing orange. This is afterall, just a battery, and batteries eventually wear out. Replace the battery and everything should be fine.

Then this problem may be in the power management system on the motherboard, but just because the battery is relatively new doesn't rule it out. Follow the link bellow and download the bios, chipsets, diagnostics, and patches. Also check for any updated drivers. If this is a simple program glitch with the power management system, then this will fix it. If the problem persists, then it's most likely a failed component in the power management system.

My laptop wont charge.when its running low at 10% i plug in my battery adapter it says its plugged in but not charging. I can only use it when my adapter is plugged in and i've left my computer sit shut...

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Laptop battery is not charging

Hi, this information represents a basic troubleshooting guideline. Refer to your user guide for specific charging and connection instructions. Manuals may be available online in the Support Web site of HP.

Remove the battery from the computer.
Confirm the battery contacts are free of any foreign material that may prevent charging.
Reinsert the battery into the computer.
Verify that the AC adapter cord is properly connected and plugged directly into a known working AC power outlet.

NOTE: If the battery charges correctly when the AC adapter is plugged directly into an AC power outlet, but not when plugged into a power strip or surge protector, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the computer battery or AC adapter.

Verify the correct AC adapter is being used.
Ensure the AC adapter box power light is on. This will be an illuminated green light.
If the AC adapter power light is not on, the AC adapter and power cord will need to be replaced.
Verify the charging indicator is illuminated on the computer.
If the issue still exists, install a different compatible HP battery, if available.

NOTE: If a replacement battery charges and operates correctly, the problem is with the first battery.

If neither the original nor a replacement battery charges, service may be required for the computer.

My lonovo laptop won't charge. how do i fix it?

if ti works with the adapter plugged but the battery do not charge to work without adapter ..than the battery is dead and you need to replace it ..If it do not work without battery and just with the adapter ..it means tha adapter has an issue and try to check the plug ..the cable and the adapter itself..before buying another verify at the store with the laptop to see if the adapter is to blame ...and not the plug into the computer ..so you do not end up with 2 working adapters ..and still no charge ...If it is the plug itself ..then you have to change it ...you can get a spare part on the ebay..or just go to a repair shop ..cause they are pretty universal ...

Hi There, I have a HP Pavilion ZE4900 and recently the AC plug in won't work. I have taken the battery out and put it in another comuter that is the exact same and it charges fine, I put my battery in the...

If your computer won't charge the battery, but the battery charges fine in another computer, and you are sure that the charger is good, then your problem is probably the DC power jack. If you wiggle the end of the power cord where it attaches to you laptop, and it starts charging properly, then the DC power jack is broken.

My Acer Aspire 5735z battery won't charge!

Your adapter port might have been improperly adjusted. Jiggle the cord around in there while it's plugged in to see if the plugged in light comes on. If it does then that's your problem. You can prob things under it to keep it at that point for a quick fix but I'd recommend a local computer shop for repairs.

Have a Dell D810. Battery at 75% charge. When I

Get a 90w adapter is the only resolution. The D810 on a 65w adapter will:
  1. Disable the battery charger
  2. Run slower due to throttling
The 65w adapter MAY charge the battery if the computer is not running (Not sure on that)

The battery will not charge unless the computer is off. it runs on the battery even if its plugged in why? if i unplug the the adapter then plug it in it charges for a few seconds and then stops and then...

1. First remove the Battery, clean the Battery contacts with the pencil eraser and insert the Battery in the Computer.

2. Connect the AC Adapter (Battery charger) securely to the Computer and the Power outlet.

3. If the issue persists, try connecting the AC Adapter to different Power outlet.

4. Make sure that both the connecting points (DC IN port on the Computer and the Power outlet plug) are securely connected and not loose.

5. If the issue persists, try with different AC Adapter.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Garmin 1412, wont run on battery power, DC only. Need info on maybe a full reset whether to return as defective

I found there are select 120v AC adapters that will work on Magellan GPS. When a working 120v or 12v adapter to mini USB adapter is plugged into the unit, the battery bars will be 'scrolling' and therefore charging.

When your adapter, or even USB cable from your computer, is plugged into the GPS unit, and the battery goes to FULL, it is NOT CHARGING. The battery bars must be SCROLLING for the unit to charge. In this case, get a different adapter until it works.

Doesnt charge

This could most probably be a battery issue. To check if it is really a battery issue, remove the battery and plug in the AC adapter. If the computer powers up, then this is definitely a battery issue and you'll need to purchase a new battery or call your computer's manufacturer and ask them if they have battery exchange programs.
