Bose - Custom EQ Error: 10

I have just setup my Lifestyle 28 System. I have been having problems intermittently when switching between components where the surround sound feature will turn off and revert to onlt front speakers working. I subsequently shut off the acoustimas module and turned it back on. Now none of the speakers will work at all and I am getting the following error when running setup CD - "CUSTOM EQ ERROR:10" Call Bose......

Hi, I have just had the same problem and the advice from BOSE was to turn everything off and disconnect the sub from the main unit, wait 10 mins and turn everything back on, making sure to turn the sub on first.

As it happens i then noticed I had connected the sub via the BOSE link speakers plug to the main unit rather than the correct "MAIN" socket. - so if you are reading this you know I am a fool! But the sound now works.

Basically BOSE confirmed the reason for error 10 is that the main unit is not detecting the sub and speakers.

Anyway, I hope my foolish mistake, helps save time and blushes for anyone reading this link.

Unplug the lifestyle system, while it is unplugged, turn off the accoustimass module.... wait for about 1 minute, turn the acoustimass module on then plug the ligestyle system back in! I checked the coections on the lifestyle system and found that the din plug was not quite in all of the way. I hope this helps!

I had the same problem but it was a stupid mistake, i forgot to flick the power switch on the acoustimass module! In short it means for some reason the accoustimass module is having trouble communicating with the lifestyle centre.

I have a Bose Lifestyle 28/35 DVD system, and I haven't been able to find a code that works.

028,017,033,018,047 are the codes to check. If you wish to get more setup codes, three digits, four digits or five digit ones, check this link. Pull up older posts there. Setup code list and setup instructions to some popular model remote controls are given. Select the 'Timeslide' option from the drop-down list by the 'Sidebar' at the display window. It will make search easy.

hi ,
the main problem you have is that the head unit does not recognise the sub .
unplug everthing and let it unplug for minimum 10 mns .
turn the sub on first
than turn the module on
this should get rid of your problem

Bose lifestyle 28 no power

There's no easy way to put this. This media center will need a repair. If you know the outlet works, and the power supply works. It couldn't be anything that's easily fixable. Make sure you don't have a dual-voltage power supply (red switch for 120v/230-240v). If so, change to 120v for us power. Otherwise this is pretty straight forward. You can call bose for a repair- 800-367-4008. $165 + tax flat rate. New 1 year warranty.

Connecting lifestyle 27/38 to psp3

Your Bose system doesn't lead sound trough hdmi.
You must connect the optical cable with your lifestyle.
Change the sound connectionsettings in the menu of your ps3.

You also need to assgn the optical connection in the setup menu of the lifesyle. e.g. optical=aux.

Try the settings setup and adjust the brightness, video format, or video black level. If you're using component connections then adjust the video output. You can scroll system setup through the remote control settings button.

Bose Acoustimas with error 10

Error 10 is either a disconnect from the audio input cable (check the pins on both ends) or the Acoustimass module has no power. Check the outlet etc. If resetting it (unplug both components for 30+ seconds) doesn't fix the problem. Call Bose for a repair.

Lifestyle 38 and HD

I have also have this problem with a lifestyle 28 system. Bose sent me a new cable then a software update. The problem remained, after contacting Bose and unplugging cables and powering down the system this solved the problem. However 2 days after and the problem has re-appeared. Back to square one. I should add that this is the second unit I have had the retailer exchanged the last one because of the same problem.
