Shuts off automatically, like 1-2 sec after turning on

About 1-2 seconds after turning the thing on, it goes off. What on earth causes that? If anyone has any ideas, I"m totally open for suggestions.

    Is the cooling fan running?

If not, the set may be designed to shut down after a few seconds to protect itself (and you).

Your set is a rear projection it doesnt have a cooling fan, but does the led blink a certain amount of times? If so that is an error code and can be used to help diagnose your problem.

Dryer starts then stops 10 seconds later for 1 minute then starts again

You dryer has several "overheat thermostats" located at various places inside your machine.
They are to prevent fires caused by overheating.
I suspect one of them is defective, or you have another problem which is causing one to shut your dryer off.
The dryer is shutting off to prevent a fire.
Be blessed

Turn on and screen goes blank after 45 seconds

Hi,
I found the problem was related to the lamp. Your TV power up but then the lamp would overheat and automatically shut down (audio and video) resulting in a dark screen with no sound. Once the lamp cooled (30 - 60 secs) it would come back on. Then overheat, turn off - recycling "eternally". A new lamp will solve the problem

Same thing

More Info please, it will usually go to standby if camera turned off or after the meter shuts down after a predetermined time (nikon default setting in camera is usually 6 secs.).
So if you switch camera back on or push shutter release to wake up metering system flash should automatically come out of standby.
Or you can push the on / off button for approx 1 / 2 secs. this will wake it up , then turn it off. Hope this may help Ian

Shuts off after 23 seconds....

In most cases when the microwave stops @ 23 seconds it's the Magnetron which has failed, and is shorting to earth.

Either that or the magnetron isn't getting the right signal from the inverter board. It gives it 20 seconds to get the right signal or it shuts itself off.

I have an SVA LCD Model VR-17S Monitor that has a black screen

Sounds like the Backlight balance sensor circuit is shutting down the inverter supply. A weak bulb can cause this or a malfunctioning sensor circuit can cause it too. Best method to troubleshoot is to substitute good bulbs; if it still shuts down, look for a pair of small electrolytic caps on the inverter board near the bulb sockets. They may be weak.

Shut off after 5 secs

One of a few things, if the cmos barttery is totally flat then sometimes because the bios memory has failed it can cause a shutdown, but then normally automatically reeboots in a cycle. The other is that the processor is the brains that takes over after the cmos post check, so the CPU may be faulty, or simply that the motherboard is not supplying enough power to run the processor, either due to the motherboard being faulty, or a faulty power supply unit, which powers the motherboard, so unfortunately it is a process of illimination.
