Question about Bose QuietComfort 2 Consumer Headphones

1 Answer

The Left phone of the Headphones is not working and I'm attempting to take it apart and check the wires to see if it's connected. So far, I only have two screws off and I'm a little scared of taking the rest off since I dont see anymore screws to take off.

My left ear piece just died. It didn't slowly die, it had a massive coronary. I don't know what caused it as I try to handle my headphones with care. If it were a loose wire, you would have thought I would get some indication with spotty sound as it got looser. Not the case - don't know what to do now.

me too, but the right side, if you fiddle with plug in the left cup by pulling it out a bit you can get sound in both cups, but the sound is mono not stereo

I bought two pairs, one developed this fault. I was given a brand new replacement and this one has now developed the same fault. Contacted Bose and even though these are less than six months old they will nor repair or replace as the original warranty has expired. They will however give me a discount of £100 if I buy a new pair. I agreee the quality is superb but at the end of the day the products as good as the back up you get from the manufacturer. I now possess an expensive piece of useless junk.

Only right side works

hello rrwunsch!
please check wiring first to find out if headphones broken or it is a connectivity problem. for that, if you connect with rca plugs - change right to left and vice versa. if still left headphone has no sound so the speaker is blown. hope it is only wiring problem.

Hi,,in most cases what causes one side of the headphone to work is because, the wire that is connected to speaker inside the headphone might have cut and it's not contacting properly.

What you will need to do is to open up the head phone (left),and check if the wire inside has not cut, If it has removed ,then you will need to put it back with soldering iron and a lead...

But if the wire inside has not removed and they are intact, then you will have to replace the left speaker .

Hope that helps...

Thanks for using fixya...

Left side of my Headphone is not working i.e. in short only one side is working ...

First play with the wire at the phone plug end and where it enters the ear housing;wires usually open up where they flex most. The next step requires access to the actual speaker connection inside the left housing. You'll need to disassemble it to get to the soldered connection.Use an ohmmeter to check for continuity to the phone plug end.Check both wires;signal and ground. If both show continuity,it's your speaker. The speaker should have a low resistance reading, not open. Also try another set of phones;if that doesn't work either,it's the source.

Can I take apart the logitech A-00006 headphones easily.

The padding comes of easily, hook your finger under from the inside and push out gently. Once removed reviles 2 philips screws. Once they are removed you have to pry the 2 plastic disks that form the swiveling ear piece apart. Then you have access to the speaker, which is glued down with a still very sticky substance but will come up quite easilly, then remove the screw from directly under the center of the speaker, then you can pop off the swiveling earpiece that is on a kind of ball and socket joint, this took quite a bit of force. This is as far as i'm going as I now have access to the damaged part of the wire! And also the 4 screws mentioned in the original question. Hope this helps.

No sound coming through my Sennheiser wireless headphones

Turning the transmitter on and off (Fig. 5)
Turn on the sound source. This automatically activates the
transmitter and the green LED “ON/OFF” lights up. If the sound
source is turned off, the transmitter is automatically deactivated
after approx. 3 minutes (the LED “ON/OFF” goes off).
Note: The automatic level control only functions if the volume of the
sound source is sufficient.
