Question about Samsung ML1740 Laser Printer
I have a nbew Toshiba m305d-s4830 laptop which is using the Microsoft Home Premium 64 bit with SP1 and the machine has 4 gig RAM and is a 64 bit machine. When I download from Samsung's site the driver which is a Windows Vista 32/64 bit driver and try to install it - I get the message - Windows can't install Samsun ML-1740 kernal mode print driver. To obtain a driver that is compatible with the version of Windows you are running contact the manufacturer.
I did, and Samsung said it is a Windows problem.
Can you help me?
Try to install the software by clicking the right button of mouse on it and chose 'run as administrator ' from drop down menu.
Before installing do the following:
Unplug pinter USB.
Remove printer from installed printers (delete ) from Windows control panel.
Keep printer usb cable unplugged when you start driver setup software, you will be asked by setup wizard when to plug in the cable, or reconnect after installation.
If it still does not work, do a system restore to a date before you plugged in the printer for the first time, then repeate software setup as above.
If it still does not go you may need to reinstall Vista or replace the printer, one of the system files or regisries entries had developed a problem with printer driver, and is not easy to locate and remove the files concerned one by one.
