Ours just started doing the same thing; it continually is 'cooling'. The blue light stays on and the machine continues to run.

I have the same problem, can it be the thermostat?. Dennis

Yes, I have the exact same problem. When I called AND e-mailed the customer service department, I received the same (almost unintelligible) reply from the same lady:

    Madam:

I just spoke to you and had explained how the unit works. This model is Factory Pre-set an is normal to run 24/7 from time to time is built with a dual chip system that is cycling every so often. I also mention to you that this unit is an energy start. This is your reference number just in case you want to call back. #7195

This Problem just started with my water dispenser. Model 87330. It is 9 month old. I dont have any solution but I did take mine apart to see if there was an adjustment on the board for the thermister that goes into the cold water tank. I didn't find any adjustment. So, the thermister may be bad or maybe the relay for the thermo-electric elements... in this case we need to replace the board. If anybody has solutions, let me know.

I have the exact same problem. The dispenser dosn't shut off when cooling. I feel it is the thermostat or circuit board. I was going to email my model# 87330 and type WD06 to the customer support, but now I'm wondering if it will get me anywhere. I paid about $70 for the unit so if the parts are to expensive I'd be better off buying a new one. Not a HAMILTON BEACH!

Glen,
We purchaced this water dispencer about 2 years ago, everything was working normal, water heater works fine and the cooler would come on and go off normally, until you dispenced cold water and then the coller would cool down and shut of like it's supposed to.
Afetr a couple of years , one day it started cooling continuously and wouldn't stop, I've just shut the cooler switch off on the back of the unit until i can figure the problem out, unit #(87330).
I believe the problem is in the circuit control board, but with out further testing i can't be sure .

The model 87330 uses two solid state cooler modules (look like little radiators} and two fans, one for each cooler module When you have the unit on cool, make sure that both fans are running, if only one fan is runing the unit never gets cold enough to shut off. If one of the modules is bad its the same story. I took mine apart today, if it was just the little muffin fan I might consider the repair but if anything else is bad, I will junk it out. I disconnected the bad fan and the associated cooling module wires off the control board and am running half cool + hot water, I am not saying to do this, this is what I have done.

I am working on mine as I write. I have had this problem for two or more years. I cleaned the radiators and both fans are working. Now put some water back in to see if it will shut off. Any other possible solutions if this dont work?

I have the same problem with my table top dispenser of theirs, they said it had a one year warranty and since it was past one year I was outta luck. Obviously it's known for this. Mine went out like 2 years ago, I turned off the cold and have just been using the hot.

Hamilton Beach 87330 hot water problem.

The two round "devices" on the tank are the operational thermostat, and the "safety" overtemp thermostat. It is usually the "operational" thermostat that fails, since it has to cycle a lot and arc internally. It is usually about 120-140 degrees F., and the safety thermostat significantly higher.

Cold Water not squirting out cold water

To resolve this problem, unplug the dispenser and let it sit for about 24 hours. I had this problem happen to me and I took the unit apart to find out the cause. I discovered that the the water cooling mechanism developed a big chunk of ice inside of it and it basically blocked the flow water. Allowing that ice to melt should resolve this problem. It did for us.

Hamilton Beach 87330 water cooler

Hello! About 2 weeks ago, the same problem began on my Hamilton Beach water dispenser.
Last week, I called the HB service support, and they told me to do the following reset procedure:

1. Dispense 3 cups from the HOT water side, and also, 3 cups from the COLD water side.
2. Turn BOTH back switches OFF (the ones on the back of the water dispenser).
3. Unplug the dispenser, and LEAVE it unplugged for 24 hours.
4. After 24 hours, turn the back switches ON and plug it in.
5. Leave it on for 4 hours WITHOUT dispensing any water.

...it's been about 12 hours since I've dispensed water again for the first time, and so far, SO GOOD! I'll update if the problems reappear.
