Most likely its an over heating problem

most of the time when the computer (CPU) is overheating the computer will shut down by itself to prevent the (CPU) from damaging.

so all you need to do either clean the fans (internal and external fans). or maybe you will need to replace them.

have you tried turning off the machine & unplugging & the turning it back on to see if that clears the computer part?
where was the thread build up it was indicating?
did the machine jam up in the bobbin area?

My needle does not stay threaded on my Brother Lx 3125 (the top thread) it keeps coming out of the needle while stitching. How can I fix this?

keep a thread tail of 3-5 inches & when you sew make sure the thread is pulled behind the needle each time you sew, even if you have to hold the thread tail with your fingers

Lower thread keeps jamming even though bobbin case is clean and tension on thread has been adjusted.

Here are some things to try.

* Re-thread your machine

* Change your bobbin
There could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you

Also, before you start to sew a seam, grasp the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back
and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting
caught in your machine.
I hope one of these solutions help.

Problem with time staying

From Brother Support Website.....
PPF4100 (Clock Gains ½ hour)
The LCD clock on the PPF4100 gains a half hour every 24 hours. Units affected were manufactured between January 2004 and April 2004. The machines manufactured after s/n D4J419125 have the new firmware already installed from the factory.

Machine will need to be taken to a service center and have a firmware upgrade done.

ALL lights are on and wont turn off

turn printer on, when all the ied's are flashing press the GO
key down untill just one of the leds stay on.
if the toner light stays on.........replace fuser or mpcb
if the drum light stays on.........replace laser.
if all the lights stay on.............mpcb.
Any of the above solutions that fix the printer would cost
more than the machine was worth.

Troubleshooting downloading

Gail, download the driver for your pc system from the brother homepage download/support (full installation about 156 mb) and try again.

In case it wont do good, post here again and please write your pc system (win/mac), too

If you run vista it WONT work because the dcp/mfc machines with no. X10 (where X is a no.) are not supported for vista from brother side.
