Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Canon MP600 My Canon MP600 will not print PGBK ink all others work fine. I ran the clean printer head function while still having ink left in the cartriges. Once that was completed it registered that I was out of ink on a couple so I bought all new ones. After installing them today it still will not print the PGBK. I ran another clean printer head, but that did not work either. What could be the issue?

I have the same problem with cyan regarding my canon mp600. My cyan won't print. follow advice given at http://www.ehow.com/how_2078853_clean-cl...

after a few drops of isopropyl alcohol and some cleaning/deep cleansing my cyan prints again on a color test bar pattern. within one sheet or so the cyan quits printing again. I'm wasting so much ink. If it prints perfectly once why would it immediately quit. After I run another cleanse it prints the test bar. then it quits again. sheesh.

when doing pattern check the PGBK is only printing half. Therefore only printing every other line. Cleaned, alcohol, tired of it.

Hi We have a Cannon MP600 printer. Just replaced the large black cartridge (PGBK 5) as it had run out. The printer is now smearing gaps in the text (in black). Tried 2 cartridges & both produced the...

Hi ...

This printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the printing and print head cleaning processes. The cleaning process is necessary in order to keep the print head nozzles from becoming clogged and showing the line gap in printing. Over the life of the printer, the amount of ink that the ink absorber has absorbed is calculated by the printer. Eventually, after substantial use, the printer will enter an error condition when the ink absorber is nearly full. At this point, printing is still possible by pressing the button on the printer. To protect the printer from damage, you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.
Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. We are aware that there are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own risk.

Please vote if this helps ... Cheers :)

Printer won't print

Yes, these machines are designed to only function if all inks are present and meet minimum requirements. Not doing so could result in damage to the print head. The large black ink, the 5, is also a pigment based ink and highly prone to clogging. Letting this machine sit for extended periods of time unused can also cause damage, possibly irreparable, to the print head. We typically recommend people using these style machines always keep a back up set of cartridges on hand to avoid issues.

I have problem with print-head for PGBK-5. On the test-print it does not appear as the pattern suppose to be (from the top) PGBK, C, C, M, M, Y, and BK. The pattern always appear C,C,M,M,Y and BK. I used...

if the clogging is worst then the deep head cleaning wont help.the head will need to be cleaned up manually and the waste ink pad in the printer should be cleaned too. this is covered normally in printer servicing.give special instructions to clean the head properly while you hand over the printer for servicing to any local tech. head cleaning and servicing will solve the issue
This will help. Thanks, please keep updated. please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Black ink ot working

Probably out of black ink. Check on your panel and see if there is a light that is on for Black Ink which means it's low. Also on your PC there should be an icon called Canon My Printer (if not on desktop you can find it in bottom left side click and then click all programs). Once you start that program you can check printer status. If low there's a way to bypass that in the program.

My canonmp830 printer is not printing in black ink

**Repeat from previous post. Would not print black. I went through all the troubleshooting of cleaning the printhead several times. The Nozzle check (found under Printing Preferences/Maintenance tab) kept coming out without the PGBK section (Black) printed on it. All the colors printed. If your see any of the colors missing, it is probably the same problem---it needs the Print Head replaced.
Part # QY6-0061-010. I was able to find it at Canyon Computer Supplies in Phoenix, but you can also order them via the internet from multiple outlets. Mine cost $59.57 with tax...much cheaper than a new printer. The replacement is very easy...Canon has info on how to do it at http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=123&modelid=12804#SupportDetailAct ...if the link doesn't get you right there, search MP830, Support & Service, then search print head & you should find it. Once you remove all the print cartriges (printer ON), the gray lever on the left side lifts up and releases the print head...which is the unit that houses all the print cartridges. I just put the new print head in, replaced all the ink cartridges, did a nozzle check...and it worked!! I love fixing things myself.

CANON MP600 - NOT PRINTING IN BLACK INK

I have had the mp600 for 3 years - worked fine on a couple of different pcs. I switched to a mac and encountered 2 issues - scanner stopped working and above problem of no black ink. The newest driver (just google mp600 driver) fixed the scanner issue. The ink issue has a work around - select non plain paper in the media quality tab, instead use any photo paper setting. Finding this area in a mac can be tricky - in the mini print options window you have to click the small chubby arrow and you will then be given a list of options including quality and media. Presto, black ink returns but probably uses more ink and takes longer to print. I have not found a more elegant solution as you have to select this non default paper option every time.
