HP Officejet 6310 All I One Printer

Im trying to connect my new 6310 HP Office Jet to my computer using my router. I have the Printer pluged into one of the availaple router ports, I have a green light in the printer end of the caple however the error message I get is "Setup was unable to detect any printers on the network"
I have the same problem
I know someone who can solve this problem

is your router a print share router?
what os are you using? xp vista linux etc?

Suggest a new solution for this problem
