You cannot, you have to still have a landline connected to the fax, as the broadband is a different thing altogether, just get a double splitter adaptor from your wall socket and then connect the landline in one and your broadband filter in another, or just unplug the broadband and plug in normal phone line when you need to fax

Lexmark 4800 lost wireless connection with windows 7

Wireless communication issues could be due to wireless signal quality, signal interference, firewall, etc. Make sure your printer is positioned where it receives excellent wireless signal strength (avoid physical obstructions whenever possible) and away from appliances which emit wireless signals (e.g. microwave ovens, cordless telephones, baby monitors, and other wireless electronics) that may cause interference. Make sure to allow full access to all Lexmark software and printer communication processes in the program rules/permissions for your firewall.

My company lexmark X642e all in one machine was faxing fine. I unplugged the fax line and plugged into another fax outlet plug and it would not work so I plugged back into the original fax line outlet and...

Make sure you plugged it back into the right port on the printer itself. The one I have actually has two different phone line plug-in ports - one is for the FAX line that connects to the wall. The other is so you can attach a separte phone as an extention to talk on. Good luck. Also, after it is plugged back into the wall, did you power down, wait 30 seconds and then power back on? Sometimes these things need to recognize at start up whether or not they are connected to other devices, etc. Good luck.

I need to connect my phone line to my printer to enable me to send faxes, how do I do this.

Refer to the printer's User's Guide on how to connect your Lexmark X5470 to your telephone line for faxing. If the printer software is already installed on your computer, you can access the printer's User's Guide by going to the Start menu -> Programs -> Lexmark 5400 Series -> User's Guide (applicable to Windows OS). If not, you can download it from the Lexmark website for free using this link: Lexmark 5400 Series All-In-One User's Guide. Scroll to page 12 for the fax setup instructions. Also, check page 71for faxing instructions (sending, receiving, etc.). Hope this helps.
If you need additional assistance, please contact Lexmark technical support. Thanks.

Using a Lexmark 3400 series to fax

Yes your printer will send and receive faxes. 1. Make sure: • The printer is connected to a computer that is equipped with a fax modem. • The computer is connected to a working phone line. • Both the printer and the computer are turned on. 2 Load an original document facedown on the scanner glass.
Here is the manual, in case you don't have one http://www.retrevo.com/d/ds/progress?doc=7d2128cd89431b0e3d4c2a1c31fa8fc4
3 From the desktop, double-click the Imaging Studio icon. 4 Click Fax. 5 Click Scan and send a fax. 6 Click Preview Now. 7 Click and drag the dotted line box to select a specific area of the preview image to fax. 8 Adjust the settings as needed. 9 Click Next. 10 Follow the instructions on the computer screen to complete the task. Receiving a fax using the software 1 Make sure: • The printer is connected to a computer that is equipped with a fax modem. • The computer is connected to a working phone line. • Both the printer and the computer are turned on. 2 From the desktop, double-click the Imaging Studio icon. 3 Click Fax.

Cant send faxes or recieve

Do you still have the problem?

Did you go through the entire setup procedure according to the manual including the fax/tel set up? Fax/tel setup tells the fax machine how you are using it. For example is the phone line used for just receiving faxes or is it used to receive phone calls AND receive incoming faxes OR is there a telephone answering device (TAD) attached to your phone line. If there is one, set it to 2 rigns. If you have it set to 4 rings the fax could disconnect before receiving the incoming fax. If you cannot send, then it has to be a line problem assuming you went through all the set up procedures correctly. Short of this you may have a bad unit and need to return it.

Can't receive incoming faxes!

It sounds like maybe the printer is not picking up the incoming call. Check to see that the printer is the first thing connected to the phone jack. If you have DSL you will need to plug the printer into the "phone" side of the DSL filters that you have on all your phone jacks.
If you have an answering machine it should be plugged into the printer's phone jack - not the other way around. The printer is smart enough to pick up fax calls and pass voice calls on to the answering machine if you get it hooked up right. Check the user's guide for more specifics.
