Removing top from Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care Model GEQ8858KQ0 Dryer

I have a new type Whirlpool Dryer that I am trying to remove top so that I can get to the screws holding a fin or vane in the Dryer drum. A coin is underneath the vane and I need to take it out. My older type of Whirlpool dryer hinged on the back when two clips at the top front edge was pushed. This dryer does not appear to have this hinge feature. Sugestions?

Here is the answer to my own question and for anyone else who may have a similar noise problem with coins , metal objects, etc getting under the vanes or fins in the dryer drum. DISCONNECT OR UNPLUG DRYER-Remove 4 screws from the back edge of the control panel on the back of the dryer. Then lift up on the backside of the cover that also has the control unit attached to it. Slide the top cover towards the front of the dryer and then lift up on front and lay the entire cover and control panel towards the back of the dryer. A wall works great to hold this out of your way. The control panel remains on the cover and the drum will stay intact. Rotate the drum to locate which fin or vane the object is located. Move this vane to top and then remove three screws that is holding the vane. These are course threaded screws that screw into the plastic vanes. a nu6t driver was required. After removing the vane I found a quarter, and a few lint balls, There are only three vanes in the drum, so take about 10 more minutes and remove all three vanes to clean out the lint.To reinstall cover slide the cover back onto the two clips(one on each side) push towards back, checking to make sure front is held down by the clips, then replace the 4 screws on backside of dryer. If the lady of the house is around, it would now be a good time to clean out from behind and under the dryer to get up the rest of the dust, lint, and whatever remains or was lost.

I have a whirlpool gold ultimate II electric dryer and would like to know how to remove the front and side panels to remove the lint on the inside.

Hello, If the lint filter is under the flap at the top lift the flap up and remove the 2 screws. Slide a putty knife under the lip between the top and the front panel about 3 inches from each end and push in the clips holding the top down. Lift the top up and look inside the machine either side and remove the 2 screws you see. now lift the front panel off. you now have access to inside the dryer :) Hope this helps! Mike

Ihave a whirlpool ultimate care II electric dryer.

Remove the 2 screws on the top of the filter housing. Then unplug the dryer and remove the ventpipe. get the dust cover off the back and take the scews loose from the blower housing. You will now be able to retrieve what ever is in there UNLESS it went behind the blower wheel. If you must remove the blower the threads on it are backwards Righty loosy.Left handed threads.

Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II: No heat

didc, on a gas dryer, if the thermal fuse blows it will still rotate, but will not heat. Since this is a gas dryer, see if the ignitor is glowing. If it is, then you know the thermal fuse is good. If not, the thermal fuse may be blown or the ignitor itself and thus the reason for no heat. Catriver.7152136.jpg
