Question about Sony KV-35S42 35" TV

1 Answer

HELP! Our Sony TV started taking longer and longer to warm up for the screen to come on. At first, it took longer and longer but it came on and worked fine, the picture was great. Over time not only is it taking longer to warm up for thepicture to come on but the screen has also begun to flash while watching it. It's get worse and worse, to where you can't watch a program on it. I talked to a service tech and he said it could be the picture tube. Is there anything that you know of that we can do at home to fix this problem or is it a service issue for sure? Could it be something besides the pic tube and worth fixing?

Sony tv model KV32S42 picture taking forever to come in

Speaking as a retired SONY dealer, the short answer is probably yes. There are some repairs an authorized SONY repair center can do but if the tube is displaying a soft picture, it may not be wise to spend a couple hundred on repairs when a new medium quality TV is three hundred to five hundred for a SONY. I applaud your devotion to a set that has served you well.

TV Model # C27A24T about nine or ten years old. TV

Bad grounds and bad caps will cause the problems in this tv. You will need to replace several caps and resolder the tuner itself and that means taking the tuner out in some cases and rework it. This is very time consuming and needs great care not to destroy the tuner. And reinstall the tuner to the board. You need the cap check to locate bad caps and visual to see bad grounds on any Ic on heatsinks. If you are a do it yourselfer fine.. If you cannot do this I would just replace the tv.

Delay to see the picture

Your power supply is going south, I have an old sony with the same problem. The voltage level drops and does not have enough 'kick' to start. It will work better when it is warm. The module will need to be replaced.

Sony TV keeps flipping to Memory Stick screen by itself

My sony HD TV started automatically flipping to the memory stick screen by itself. I thought maybe the remote was malfunctioning so I took the batteries out of the tv's remote as well as the cable boxes remote. Still does it. If I hit the memory stick button on the remote to switch off the screen sometimes it goes back to TV screen and sometimes it doesn't. Eventually, it flips back to the memory stick screen. Is this a known problem for this TV? your problem in system control section check aft &tuning ckt &its voltages check for loose contact in above ckt check tuner thanks

Sony Gurus! My set has sound, screen takes long to come on.

I will suggest you put the screen control back to where it was,the unit has a lot of loose conections in the power supply, horizontal driver transformer and possibly crt board,if you keep using it like this it will go dead completly and the repair will be more expensive,be safe and call a person who is qualified and get an estimate.
