Re: The camera has no power. What I should I do?

Ake sure the lens cover is open all the way and the storage card slot is closed. If your using a SmartMedia card verify that the cards specification is 3.3V SSFDC and not 5.0V. Check the batteries and verify they are installed correctly. When using the AC adapter, make sure it is plugged into a working outlet.

The on off button is stuck in. is there anything you can do or do i just buy a new one.

Reset the camera
  1. Turn off the camera, if possible.
  2. If an SD memory card is installed, remove the card.
  3. Remove power from the camera as described below:
    • If you are using only batteries for power, open the battery/memory card door and remove both batteries.
    • If you are using only the HP AC power adapter, disconnect it from the camera.
    • If you are using both batteries and the HP AC power adapter, remove both batteries and the power adapter.
  4. Wait for 15 seconds. Then reinsert the batteries and close the battery/memory card door or reconnect the HP AC power adapter to the camera. If you are using both batteries and AC power, try each method separately.
Turn the camera on and off. If the issues is not resolved do the following

Connect the camera to the optional AC power supply
  1. Connect the camera to the optional AC power supply. Ensure that the AC power supply is connected to a working power outlet.
  2. Try turning the camera on.
  • If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions in this document.
If the is not resolved ,then repeat setps 1 to 4 abiove but remove the batteries and keep the AC power adapter connected.

On the Sony DSC-H7 camera can you disable the auto power off? If not does the use of an external power supply disable it? Thanks

The auto power off function that operates if the camera is not used for about 3 minutes, when operating on battery power, cannot be deactivated.

When using the camera the camera powered from the Sony AC-LS5 AC mains adapter, or with the Sony DCC-L1, DC power adapter, the camera auto power function is deactivated whilst the camera is connected to the power supply.

Canon PowerShot A710 IS ~ Will Not Stay Powered On

Are you still using alkaline batteries? If so, alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pics in a digital camera. Some may have reached their shelf life, and though brand new may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. Digital cameras for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. Retailers sell these for around $7 for a package of four (about $15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they'll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may slap yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.
