Because your computer can only operate one operating system at a time. You can add both partitions to your computer but your computer can work with one partition on your hard drive at a time.

To run both at the same time you will need seperate computers. One for Windows and one for Linux, a network, and another computer with the desktop software so that you can access both systems.

It's the same configuration that companies manage them on.

I DONT HAVE ANYONE OF THEM

If the problem states missing operating system, then you will have to purchase an OS be it Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Linux, etc..

If you already have a system recovery disk, then insert that to reinstall your operating system.

If you own a OS installation disk, insert that to install your operating system.

Please clarify further for further assistance.

Sir i am using Lenovo laptop with 3000 y410 series.Sir I have already installed 2 os,which are windows 7 and red hat linux. In red hat os my audio & video driver would not be there. Can u tell me from...

Hi Alithenu,

Installing driver to your computer is so easy as long as we have the latest driver that matches the operating system. Based on your concern, you already installed 2 operating systems on your computer and one of them (Red Hat Linux) wont activate the Audio and Video. The reason why Audio and Video won't work using Linux is because of missing driver. Based on the official support download site of your system, they only released drivers for windows XP and Windows Vista 32 bit. Please visit this link for your reference. Just go to the Audio and Video section. The only way that you can activate the Audio and Video is by putting back the original operating system that came with your computer.

--> If you're now planning to restore the system to the factory setting, please use the One Key Recovery feature of your computer. It will bring back again the original operating system of your PC.
--> Please visit my link for the complete guide and steps for the One Key Recovery (OKR).

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I can't load any OS on an IBM Thinkpad

Since both operating systems are failing to install, I would suspect that there is a problem with the installation of the harddisk (cable not securely connected) or the new harddisk is faulty.

What is the difference between unix and linux

UNIX is a operating system which has only command user interface, and if the unix is installed in the system you cant install any other operating system after that ... one separate system must be allocated for the unix ...

LINUX is the graphical user interface and it supports multiple operating system ..

UNIX and LINUX are almost same, almost all commands which supports in UNIX supports in LINUX too .. with some extended features just like GUI(GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE),SECURITY,MULTI USER,MULTI TASKING,etc

COMMAND USER INTERFACE - the input is made to the computer by using commands and the output is obtained by command or by printer ...

GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE- the input is provided to the computer through the other input devices like mouse, joystick etc
the input is provided either by command or by the just clicking the mouse on the particular icon ...

example for graphical user interface is windows,Macintosh etc ...

About Linux fedora and XP

Without knowing more about your system, the key rule is to install XP first, then Fedora.
If that doesn't work then it's time to put more partitions on your hard drive, and install the 2 operating systems on different partitions, again, remembering that Windows XP has to be the first installed.
