Ok Clarify ..Lay the 360 down on it's belly(Horizontal) there are four lights around the power button..Those lights are meant to tell the manufacturer for certain issues of the system i'll give you a link to these colors and you email me back with what you see .. http://xbox-experts.com/errorcodes.php
Red Ring of Death is caused by your system overheating and causing the processor connection to break away from the board. You could send it back to Microsoft for repairs, but that would take weeks, and still cost you. Try CPR in NYC, they do repairs in house, and usually turn them around in a week. You could ship directly to them. here is the website http://cpr-nyc.com/
Hello brian, i had the exact same problem with my xbox 360 and it is not your tv , it is simply the laser lens inside the disc drive. here are the steps you need to follow:
1)you need to take off the faceplate,
2)you need to pull the disc drive out, it will slide out easily, if the disc drive is stuck tap quite vigourosly on the top of the case (trust me it will not get damaged) while pulling out the disc drive.
3)open the disc drive and then take out the laser's lens and give it a good clean. the laser sometimes gets very dirty from sucking in dust particles from the air.
if this guide doesent help email me on: email@example.com
