I'M NOT SURE IF THIS IS MY REQUEST,BUT THIS IS THE SPECIFIC PROBLEM. I THOUGHT THAT REINSTALLING THE OS AND DRIVERS MIGHT GET THINGS STRAIGHT, ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO UPDATE THE OS, SINCE CURRENTLY I DO NOT HAVE ANY DATA OR EXTRA APPS THAT I AM WORRIED ABOUT LOSING DURING AN UPGRADE. WHAT DO YOU THINK? I DON'T KNOW IF AN OS UPDATE IS AVAILABLE , OR IF THIS WOULD BE POSSILE.

HI, The first thing you need to do is to reinstall the palm desktop software to make sure you have the most up to date version. After you do that try doing a hard reset. You want to make sure you have everything backed up from your PDA to your desktop because when you do the hard reset it is going to erase everything on the PDA and restore to just like it was brand new. You will have to reset the time and city and calibrate the screen by tapping the little targets.
To do the hard reset follow these instructions:
1. Hold down the power button and then depress the small hole in the back
with the tip of your stylus.
2. Continue to hold them both in until you
see the Palm logo.
3. Let go of both of them and then follow the onscreen
directions. You will want to answer yes and use the 5 way navigation
button on the bottom of your pda
and hit up so that is completes the reset. After that you will have to
set up your touch screen and go through the tapping the target. After
you have gone through all this then do a hotsync. It should clear up your problem. Best wishes.
Hi. TouchFlo is the special today plugin for the HTC devices, and as you realized, you can still use all functions of your PDA without. I think there is an error in the installation of TouchFlo (There can be a bunch of reasons, we have to know everything you did with your PDA in order to guess them), but there is a safe solution for that problem, you can backup all your personal data and software to your PC, then you can hard reset your PDA to its factory default settings. That way both your phone and the TouchFlo will work. In order to hard reset your PDA (after the backup of your personal data), you can follow the steps in this link: (http://www.hardreset.eu/htc_touch_diamond_hard_reset_soft_reset_en.html). Hope this helps.
The best solution to these problems is hard resetting your device. A hard reset will bring your PDA to it's factory default state, so your PDA will be as fast as it was when it was brand new. But this process will erase all your stored data (Such as adress book, messaged, appointments, tasks, pictures, ...) so you should consider having a backup of your PDA to your PC with a backup software before you hard reset your device. So later when you hard reset, you can recover the personal data with this backup file and continue using your PDA faster.
To hard reset your PDA, you must press the on/off button and reset button at the same time (reset button is a small button that needs to be pressed with your pen, and usually it is located in the bottom of the PDA). And later, wait a couple of minutes and the windows will be reinstalled and load up with the starting page of the screen alignment. After you completed all the settings, you can recover your data from your backup file (from PC).
needs to be replaced , if it does not respond to ur taps have u tried
aligning the screen does it work at all or no area is responsive on
screen then u can try hard resetting it first but after that it will be
guaranteed that ur touch panel is faulty which seems like to me
one thing u shud now do all data will be lost in factory reset process and
if ur touch panel is faulty u will stuck up in initial aligning process
so pls backup first b4 going ahead sync contacts and sms calender an
stuff then try this
hard rest factory default settings = when ur
set is switched off press both buttons call and end key and then press
power button on upside of pda for like 5 sec screen will appear asking
to format all data take out ur card if u dont want to format that now
confirm by pressing the centre action button in 4 side joystick and go
u are stuck at align process then it is now pretty sure that ur TOUCH
PANEL / also called DIGITIZER is faulty u can get it replaced around 60
$ or so
ur touch panel is faulty u have to go to service centre , there are 3 things coupled together Lcd screen then touch panel and then front housing for protection of both , u might dropped it , if ur screen is working partially i mean if it responds to taps at some region of screen then it may be a dust inside the housing u have to clean it from inside if u can , otherwise if it completely not responding then it is faulty touch panel , it will cost u around 50 , 60 $
This is a common problem with many touch screen phones. There are about three reasons this can happen that I know of:
1. Hardware issue. Needs to go in for repair. Hopefully under warranty still.
2. Needs to be re-flashed with the OEM ROM. This is not likely, since you've already Hard Reset, but worth a try.
3. The EASIEST and FIRST thing to check is to run a 'business card' around the edge of the screen between the case and screen. Dirt or other objects can easily get wedged into that area and hold the screen pressed down. This would prevent a press from any other area of the screen. Also, a screen protector that has shifted might cause this. Hopefully this is it, as it's a simple fix!
Your digitizer might be dead, and if so the cost to repair it could
buy you a whole new PDA.
But since it's fix or chuck(if you don't get any better advice), you should open it up and take a look inside. Check to see if the wires aren't loose or if some corrosion didn't occur inside.
