EliteGroup PM800M2 motherboard

Hi I have just loaded Vista onto my pc and the motherboard setup disc does not cater for Vista. I am unable to setup my usb ports and I think this is because the setup can not run. Where can I get the Vista version of this motherboard's setup and any drivers that need to be loaded?

This motherboard dont have a software/driver for Vista ECS didn't create a software for vista that's the reason why the other components of the MOBO wont be working fine with vista like the video, and usb because of driver problem.. But it do have a driver for ethernet card and RAID for vista that's all they have created , this is the link for it so you can also check it

Hope that helps...........

Hello I currently have elitegroup PM800M2

The motherboards have standard screw holes. This is something like "one size fits all". You will be able to mount any motherboard in that case.

Hi you will need to contact the manufacturer of the computer,
Dell, Acer, HP etc [ not the motherboard manufacturer] and select their support option. Some manufacturers have a lock code on the hard drive and if you can get the unlock key then you will be ok. The only other option is to replace the hard drive.

The WindowsXP setup program will hang when it tries check hardware at the beginning of setup. It won't recognize the linux file system as a legitimate drive and freeze. You'll need to either format the drive and lose all the linux data, or buy a second drive to install Windows on and make the windows drive the primary drive, and temporarily disconnect the linux drive. After you install Windows you can reconnect the linux drive as secondary. You can check the forums for your version of linux and find help on setting up a dual boot system so you can boot from Windows and linux. You'll just have to make adjustment to the linux bootloader config file.
Linux is a great operating system, but is not for the faint of heart.
Good Luck

PM800-M2 No sound

If you don't have the manual for the PM800-M2 dowload it from the ECS website.

There is a front panel audio header at the back of the motherboard just in front of the onboard sound rear connector.
If the front panel out put isn't being used the front panel audio connector requires 2 jumpers to be on the header in the correct locations.
