I have an hlp4663w 46in dlp samsung. The problem is after turning on the set it runs for a few minutes and I loose the picture, but I still have sound. I can turn it off and then back on and the picture comes back on for a minute or so and then goes backout. It does it with the old bulb and the new bulb I installed. Do you have any suggestions? There is nothing else wrong with the set.

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

My Samsung 46in DLP turns on but within a few minutes it truns off and the timer, lamp and red stand by/ temp lights blink. Any Ideas?

The blinking lights usually indicate that the lamp is faulty or burnt out. In this case a new lamp would be required. The lamp in your projector set should last around 3-4 years of typical use. If your lamp is at the end of it's life you may have noticed a gradual reduction in brightness over the last few months. In this case if it's still in warranty contact Samsung to arrange for a replacement lamp.
Occasionally the lamp may not come on even when it is not burnt out. You could try turning the power off for 60 seconds on the back of the set. The other possibility is that the lamp is loose. Refer to your manual on replacing the lamp and follow the instructions removing the lamp and then put it back into place. If neither of these work you will need to get a new lamp.

Samsung 46in.

This is a Plasma TV set, there is no convergence adjustments on this set. the convergence adjustments are for tube type projection TV sets. You could have a few problems with your TV. You could have a bad color whell assembly, a bad light engine assy. or a problem with the main board. This is not a set a that some who is not trained on plasma TV sets should attempt to troubleshoot and or repair. depending on how old this set is, it may still be under warranty. if it is not, call out only a Samsung authorized servicer, as they will have the boards and proper tools to service this TV. Good Luck
