then run it and uninstall the trend micro installation and any other programs like old expired anti-virus, that you don't want.
afterwards if you want an Anti-Virus on your machine you might try Avast. You can get it at the link below INSTALLED for you for free. The Avast has two versions Free and Paid. when it is installed it is free. If you want to upgrade then purchase the paid one. But I will tell you right now I cannot remember the last time that I had paid for a Anti-Virus.
Once you have Avast installed make sure you run a FULL SCAN of the HARD DRIVE. Good Luck.
Download the FREE version, uninstall your current version, when you install the FREE version, dont click on try the trial FULL version.
You dont want to try and hack or use a serial that is not yours on your security software.
There are plenty of good free antivirus.
AVG
Avira
Microsoft security essentials
avast
pc tools
comodo
i have using it since it started and have never been infected.
i also use malwarebytes anti malware (mbam for short) for rougue ware and such it also is 100% free. go here:
click on the download @majorgeeks button in the middle of the page.
remember to uninstall avast before installing avg and mbam. do this by clicking start>control panel> add/remove programs> then click avast and tell it to remove.
Your Norton that you bought in 2005 has expired.
Normally, the anti virus protection, you buy, will have an expiration of 1 year or 2 years. It will only have more, if you have purchased the license for more. If not, that is why your Norton is out ot date. Expired 2006!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND NORTON Some useful information below. Hope it helps.
SPEAKING WITH MY EXPERIENCE TRY SOMETHING ELSE.
FREE SPYWARE Download Spybot Search & Destroy. Restart computer, then run Spybot to see what spyware comes up, AND DELET IT.
FYI---Virus Protection-- 2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection. SO just download one.
Running Spybot Search & Destroy with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition. FREE
There are alot of $ anti-virus and Internet security programs out there, ie: Norton, McAfee, Panda, Bitdefender. If you would like to pay $ then get ***Kaspersky***-- 2010 , I feel that is the best for your money.
REMEMBER TO KEEP UP THE DAILY MAINTENANCE ON ALL OF YOUR COMPUTERS.!
Good Luck. If you find this information helpful , please rate me. Thanks :0)
Hi for anti virus use Avast free edition or AVG free edition. Avast will need to be registered, otherwise it will expire in a couple of months. I prefer avast, it picks up more viruses.
If its pop ups you are having saying your infected then its a spyware or malware problem. I use Spybot Search and Destroy and Superantispyware, both are free. Try running full system scans after updating the definitions and see if that cures the problem.
Another good free utility is Advanced System Care. This will tidy up your system and give it a boost.
Hope this helps.
