Hi, You may have connected it wrong. Video 1 or 2 or 3. When you plug it in video 1 you have to select video 1 in the menu. If you have HDMI connection you have to switch to HDMI to watch. and so on. Most sets have TV/cable to watch normal TV. If this does not work go to a repair shop to fix. Good luck.
the va is reading 74.8 it says it should be 76 the vsc is 84.7 should be 90 the vs 9.8 should be 90 the ve 0 should be 115 the vset .468 should be 115 the vg 15.10 should be 15 the v5d 5.28 should be 5.3 i am not sure what they mean but a tech on another forum said to check these so i did is there a way for you to let me know if these sound ok or not
Sounds a bit hoky poky to me. but he has some piont too on what to set the TV up. You may not be able to do it yourself. Thats why I said go to a repair shop. They will have the tools and the know how to set it up right.

It sounds like the backlight is burned out. Its a long skinny tube that runs along the bottom of the screen that provides the light for the picture. Its actually not too hard to replace if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. Its just a plug or two and a bunch of screws. good luck
