Your WD HDD have been attacted by viruses for your computer or outside computer where you used it last. Make sure that you have an up to date antivirus software, scan your computer or the external hard drive, explore your computer, go to tools - folder options under view files & folders select show hidden files and folders apply and ok it.

Preformat : By Fix-shad0w

#1
Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

I have a Seagate 2.5" SATA Mobile HDD. How do I back up all of my word document files

You will need to attach it to your computer somehow, is it an external drive? Is it USB / Firewire? Once you connect it you can format the drive (it may come pre-formatted) and it will then show up as a drive letter in My Computer (E: drive for example). Then you can just copy and paste your word documents onto the drive.

Which version of Windows are you using?

My Computer does not show hard drive

I'm assuming you use Vista. First view the Maxtor drive (Start - Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management) and see if Active or make it Active. You then can give it a drive letter.

I am having a problem copying large mkv files from a WD 2TB mybook to another WD 2TB mybook. they are both formatted to NTSC. I had no problem loading the first drive but the second one is giving me fits!

In order to fix this problem, be sure that the drive is formatted to NTSC. Mine was, however, when I started loading mp3 files to the drive first, it somehow got reformatted to FAT32. I don't know how, but it did. Copy your mkv files FIRST!

Archos 605 160gb keeps switching off

I save all my data to an external hard drive, restored factory settings and then transfered my data back to the Archos. It seems to be working OK now.

Before anyone else tries this they need to make sure that they have the access codes for any plud ins that they've purchased.
