Is the blades supposed to come off when I take the container off of the blender.. My blender is brand new sat for 3 or 4 years after I bought it. . The first time I used it , it was extremely hard to get the container off. when it did break loose the whole set of blades came out and my liquid went all over the place. Now I am trying to figure out how to put it back to gether again so that don't happen again..

You did not specify a brand or model number of your blender; however, most blender jars will lift off their power base without turning or with only very little turning motion to release them from the base. The blade assembly should NOT come off as you remove the blender jar from the power base.

Were you successful in removing the bottom ring which normally screws on to the bottom of the blender jar from the powerbase?

You should make sure you have properly attached the blade assembly for your brand/model.

The blender blade assembly should be held on to the bottom of the blender jar by the bottom ring which screws on clockwise; most will have a sealing gasket that fits between the blade assembly and the sealing surface of the blender jar to prevent any leakage while in use. It will take much more turning to unscrew the bottom ring to release the blade assembly than it should to release the bottom ring from the powerbase.

Assemble your blender jar and blade assembly and try a dry run by placing on the powerbase, giving a couple of bursts of power, and then seeing if you are able to remove without the blender ring unscrewing.

Make sure you are comfortable with the action required to remove the blender jar from the powerbase before you put in to use.

Good luck!

I just bought a new rice cooker container for my family to cook rice. It saids use one cup of rice with 1 and a half of water and microwave for ten minutes. Then thought I use 3 cup of rice then must...

you do not need to triple the time when tripling the quantities, example: one baked potato = 8 min, 2 = 10 min,3= 12 min ....

sounds like a triple batch is a bit much for your microwave
so you may want to cut it in half

I need a gasket for my sunbeam blender/coffee mill model 2774 .

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly:

Here are the parts that are available for your unit:

I am assuming you need the gasket that is part of item 2 and comes with the blade assembly.
Note that it is back ordered and not available until 3/23/2011.

The part number is: 123250-000-000 Do a net search using the part number (images) and you will find other sources.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

I purchased a G E single serve blender...used it once, now the blade base will not fit into the blender base...what would cause this to happen?

The problem may be that the base is not turned all the way into the cup due to damage of the threads or the wrong gasket or having more then one gasket. This would keep the tabs from aligning with the notches in the base. Try the other base and cup and if that doesn't work then the notches may be the problem. There may be some foreign object jammed in them
or they may damaged. Take a small screwdriver and see that the spring loaded ramps in the notches compress. GE's cusomer assistance number is 1-877-207-0923. These units have a 2 year warranty though I dont know about second owners.

Why my new oster blender blade rotates counterclockwise and not clockwise?

It is a function of gearing or motor orientation, and it makes no difference which way it rotates, as long as all of the attachments need the same rotation....

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers and Driver downloads as required.

Just Google the manufacturer's name and follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they charge for the information that is normally free of charge.

I hope this helps.

My blender won't power on, the lights don't turn on. I've had the blender for 1 year and have never had any problems with it. In the past month it would only work intermittently, and now it doesn't work...

sometimes something (food etc) gets "stuck" in the lock mechanism, preventing it from turning. unplug the blender and give the locking mechanism a cleaning with a bottle brush or rinsing it under very hot water. also the lock could be broken/chipped, also preventing it from turning.

i must admit that I broke my locking mechanism 5 years ago by not "seating" it correctly and forcing it. my hubby somehow removed! the locking mechanism but now it goes on - turns - as soon as I plug my blender in (because the stop/lock doesn't exist anymore). so I must be very careful to always have the lid on before I plug it in. but it's a braun blender and I love it. so i've kept it all this time.

I need to change the blade in my Braun blender, model 4 184. And I cannot loosen the old blade. I see no way to unscrew it. Please help

Just a suggestion: look underneath - there may be 2 prongs that you have to press together to push out, rather than having to unscrew it.
