First of all you should made sure that there isn't any piece of string or rope wrapped around the blade (happens a lot if you use your yard and have kids :-)).

If that doesn't fix it, I guess the bearings on the top part of the shaft (the one that the pull start turns) is in need of some oil. Simply remove the bolts that attach the entire top cover, including the pull start. The top part of the shaft should have a square metal cap that has a tiny hole for oiling the bearings. Drop in some oil!

I sure that this will help :-)
Good Luck!

Can i fix small electric motor

Most electric motor problems are caused by the bearings failing. Before that happens it may get very stiff but stil turn. With the power off, and the blade still attached, try turning the blade at least half a turn. Is that possible? Any noises as you turn? Is it very stiff or fairly free? If you turn it several times you may find that putting it upright and connecting the power it may start turning again.
Let me know what you find.

Loud screeching noise when I turn on a/c

Likely just to be the A/C belt. It may need an adjustment or replacement. With key out of car just smear a little bit of grease (not much) on the belt. Start the vehicle & turn on A/C. If noise gone or quieter the belt is the problem.

Why does my john deer la115 make a loud screeching sound when i take my foot off the brake

Bad belt or belt tensioner. Shut it off and look underneath for problems.

Loud noise when clutch is disengaged

Something is locked up underneath, something is preventing your belt from spinning. I recommend going under and inspecting the blade area and also belt area especially if the deck is full of debris. You might even have a frozen bearing or something like that anyhow you need to do a little investigation, pronto buddy. Good Luck

GE Model WHDSR209D2WW makes unbearable loud metal Screeching noise

ppr78, couple of things you want to check. The bottom panel on these GE's are pretty flimsy. I have run into a couple where during agitation the bottom of the motor housing would rub against the bottom panel making a terrible noise. You need to remove the front panel by pusing on the clips on the left and right side just under the top. The front panel will pull out. During agitation, take your foot and push down on the bottom panel and see if the screech goes away. I have also found the suspension rod support sockets at the top dry out and make a screeching noise. You also want to check your belt and pully and see if the noise is from there. Check these things back.
