Just purchased the RT2911 this afternoon at a local Wal Mart.. Got it home, out of the box, on a shelf, distributed the speakers accordingly, plugged the unit in. I powered on the receiver and immediately...

Did you try reversing the speaker cables in the back of the unit? I mean making sure the ground wire ( the wire with a black stripe on it ) is in the right connector.

Aiwa CXNMT320...All functions working, no sound from connected speakers for tuner or CD.. all connections fine...was working fine a few days ago, then nothing at all. Is there a audio amp or pre-amp issue...

Inspect the speaker wires from the receiver to the speakers and look for damage or loose connections. Make sure that the insulation is adequately stripped on both ends of the wires and they are inserted far enough to make good contact with the speaker connectors. Also check the Speakers: If possible, connect another speaker to the receiver and test the system. If it does, the speakers may be damaged or defective.

If you are using a CD or DVD player, try using the AM/FM tuner built into the receiver, or a tape player or any other source connected to the receiver. If the receiver works on some sources but not others, the problem could be the analog or digital cables between the source component(s) and the receiver. Replace the suspect cables and try the source component again.

RE: OnKYO CR-305TX CD RECEIVER Why do the "saved"

There shouldn't be a battery inside but a super capacitor that is supposed to keep the station memory...may be the capacitor is should be located on the tuner/radio board and may have a high value such as .47Farads at 5 may need a tech to replace if you have no working knowledge of circuits , but if you do , you should be able to obtain one at radio shack...they sometimes call these capacitors memory backup capacitors

Onkyo CR-325

According to the manual, the sleep timer can be set to shut the unit off after a specific time. The other timers can only be used to trigger the amp to play or recored at specific times, and only if the recieiver is left in standby, otherwise the timers are ignored. There should be no reason the sleep timer does not work if you are following the procedure outlined in the manual (
Sounds like the transformer or something went in the other amp. Not related to the timer issue. Both amps having the smae timer issue suggests that it is a programming issue (follow the procedure in the manual step by step), if you still cant get it to work, get it covered under warranty while you can.\
Hope this Helps

No speaker sound, headphone works

Hiya . The 8ohm is fine and would work. Check for the obvious, a speaker on off switch. If not that then amplifier module is faulty.

I got a local company to fix it. They used Panasonic parts, and also said most components are Panasonic. It seems to working fine, though not quite as crisp/sharp. Maybe we got used to the smaller one we bought while it was being repaired.

Need help opening my CD changer?

When you turn on the unit, pushing eject or the open/close button should work. If it doesn't work then the unit is not working. See if you can send it back.

Hi Karl,
Can you use the unit after the symbol goes away?
The operating manual may be downloaded at;

The closest symbol to the one you mentioned is listed at page 28 of the manual. It is the "elapsed playing timer" symbol. This function is controlled by the "Remain" button.

Page 10 of the manual has a similar looking symbol warning you not to use certain incompatible disc formats;
Do not use the following types of disc!
• LD, CD-G, CD-I, CD-ROM and DVD-ROM discs cannot be played on this player.
If such discs are played, a "WRONG DISC FORMAT" message appears on the TV screen.
• DVD discs purchased abroad may not play on this player.
If such discs are played, a "WRONG REGION CODE" message appears on the TV screen.

Page 54 of the manual lists a reset procedure in case the unit power trips off or behaves errantly;
• Turn off the power and hold the button on the main unit for
longer than 5 seconds.
Using the RESET function will erase all stored settings.
Do not use this unless necessary.
