Most dvd players require decoder software in order for them to work but fortunately, there are several free programs out there that will work for you in this matter.
I recommend VLC, as it is a free program that not only will allow you to play the dvd, but has features for video, audio and sync control as well.
If you don't like that program, you can also try Real Player, Or Divx plus.
Both of these programs are free, and they have the proper dvd decoder software in them as well.
Also, if you can download a program called k-lie codec pack, it may very well fix your problem, without havung to get any of the other software, and you can then play your dvd's using Windows Media Player
Hey hi. Cyberlink powerDVD will play all the dvds. But you just try playing the same dvd in other players like VLC media player and Media Player Classic. These are the two players available in the market which will play audio and video of all extensions. So just try playing the dvd with this. Still you cannot able to get the audio means, there might be the problem in the disc also. So go for another dvd and try playing it. This is how we need to sought out the problems.
do you still have the driver disk for your toshiba? if just put in the cd/dvd rom and run it in order for to re install the driver for the audio, if you have to go to the product site and download a new driver for your audio
are your speakers ok, is there a green light, try with other speakers, maybe your speakers have gone bad,,,, headphones are just like speakers but are weaker and don't require power, speakers need power supply that you get from the wall or through USB.
Make sure you have DVD playing software installed, such as Cyberlink Power DVD. The software would have come with your computer or DVD drive at the time of purchase.
If you do not have specific DVD playing software, VideoLAN Player is a good free alternative, which you can download from http://www.videolan.org
