well uhmmmmm maybe its both ps2 and gta:sa i dont own a ps2 slim anymore but it worked with mine old one fine go to a gamestop technitian and ask him about your problem bring you games in and he could test it out
Hi i need more info when you put the game in and close draw does it load the game or does it just goto browser like their is no game in if this is the case then the only thing you can try is buying a lense cleaner and run this through your ps2 if this dont solve your problem then the chances are you will need the laser replacing you can get these off well known auction site but the problem is you will need the info on how to calibrate the new laser. Let me know what actually happens then i can assist you further
You must have a Slim model, as only slim models are aggrevating about adjusting and clenaing. If not take a Magnifying glass or Jewelers Loupe to look at the laser lens extremely close.Sometimes it takes a good bit to get it clear.
You should make sure your cables work on a different PS2. You could have a bad connection somewhere in the cable. If you can you should see if you can get sound out of the optical audio port on the PS2.
