Beeping my pc have 3 beeping sound and the cpu fan is moving but cannot start up

I have the same problem - 3 long beeps. I'm guessing it has to do with memory - I'm trying to use PC2100. I downloaded the manual (v5.0a) and set the CPU clock jumpers for 100mhz and 133mhz but neither worked. I've changed CPUs, I've changed memory sticks, I've changed video cards, I've changed power supplies. I've disconnected all the non-essentials. Nothing helps. Last time it worked, I was in the middle of formatting a hard drive. Please help !

Dell VOSTRO 460 beeps during startup and will not startup.

many times if the fan over the cpu chip on the motherboard fails to run or blow, an beeping alarm will begin and PC will not start. the cpu has to be kept cool so if fan fails the startup is stopped. have found lose wire connections from fan to motherboard terminal, or power supply may be blown, try checking those first. if nothing lose then wiggle those wires to see if the fan starts.

How to stop the beeping sound

Beeping sounds when you try to boot up? Is your system booting up all the way? Beep sounds help the technician isolate the problem with your computer booting. Beep sounds normally indicate a problem with the memory, cpu, keyboard, fan, motherboard, etc. The number of beeps can be looked up based on the motherboard brand or bios and it will tell what the problem is.

Power on screen blank.. fan on

Did you hear a sound beeping. If you can hear a sound beeping it is a RAM problem. But if there is no sound beeping that is a processor problem. You can disassemble or remove the processor and clean make sure that the processor fan is spinning so that it will control the temperature of the CPU to avoid overheating.

Loud beeping sound on start up , now will not start up , power ok

First remove the Ram and boot the system without it. If you hear continuous two beeps, then the problem is with the Ram, you need to replace it. If nothing happens, then your cpu or your motherboard is gone. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Ultra m923 mid-tower case won't stop beeping

The problem is the board on the case's display. It has temp alarms for your components(video card, hdd, cpu), there are temp probes for you to set so you can monitor these temps. However the board that controls these functions, or at least mine and many others I have read about, is defective. It will change display constantly and sometimes have garbage display. It is setting its own limits for what is considered a hi temperature. The limit it has set for one of your components is < room temperature so it thinks you are having an overheating problem. You can manually set the limit for overheat and it will fix it for a while, but it will prob happen again.

I believe it to be a CPU problem. Ram problems are usually 3-4 quick beeps. Cpu is usually over and over beeping.

Constant beeping

I would first check that all the fans are turning when you first power it up. It may have fan speed sensors on them, and one or more fans aren't coming up to speed. I would check the CPU fan(s), as they are usually smaller, and tend to go bad before the other larger ones.
