Hi:
Check your memory.
You may not have enough memory to run a video like that.

You need enough memory to be able to cache in memory the file being shown.

take care,

I have desktop / dell cpu unit pentium 4, 1.8ghz, 512ram, 64 video card, and with xp os on it. My problem is that after i changed the hardisk of cd rom into dvd rom awhile ago, my computer gets too slow....

the best thing you could do is to increase your amount of ram in your pc this will handle the slow down problem. recording software takes quite a bit of ram space dvd software takes more ram than your cdrw. if you video card doesnt have its own on card ram this will also slow you down. depending on the motherboard you have its possible to upgrade the proccessor to a faster one 2.8ghz intel new can be bought for like 17bucks but ram is the easiest and sounds like just what your needing.

Boot win98

I'm assuming that you mean that the computer itself has no CD or no Floppy drive.
If there is no operationg system, and no way to actually install one, then you are out of luck.
There are external CD drives, but these normally run within Windows--although your computer may allow for their use on startup.
If your computer is new enough and you can enable legacy USB, then you could theoretically copy a Win98 install CD to the USB drive and boot from that.
If you have an operating system installed and your network is running, you can share a CD on another computer and run the setup from that computer by copying the files across the network.

I NEED TO MY FIX COMPUTER BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS PLEASE HELP.

can't help you with the parts... but download a program called spybot s&d and install it... update it then scan... it will find spyware on your computer which would slow it down... ccleaner is another program to get which will allow you to remove junk files from your computer... then defrag it.... should help the performance somewhat

Oh and what is wrong with the laptop... or start another question for it

Hi there

you might have a failing hard disk or motherboard, try clear c-mos battery and try again . Also replace any faulty ram and other hardware that may cause the problem , unplug FDD, CD ROM and other devices , replace keyboard and mouse

Linux on Tohiba portege 3110CT

If your Toshiba Portégé 3110CT is in need of a bootdisk you may have found that it's a bit of a problem finding the drivers to access the CDROM. The "oakcdrom.sys" driver that comes with most bootdisks doesn't work.
What you need is the "arccd.sys" driver and some amendments to the "config.sys" and "autoexec.bat" files. Fortunately, I've already sorted and zipped it ready to go

if the upper solution failed try to download the bios update n run it!

Not regonising battery

the fault is probably the motherboard not accepting the battery as being connected. If it's still under guarantee i would inform the retailer, as if you mess with anything and accidently do other damage, as you will know with car parts, the warranty is void.
