I have 2003 mercury sable dont have key or remote. Has code numbers under the driver door handle how do i get the code for that car.

tell what fails what can you do and not do.
have door key pads?
key code can mean the actual key (locksmith )code to make a new from even far away.
or code means car has keypad, 01.2.3.4 ,,,,9)
tell whats wrong,clearly.

You will find your five number lock code behind the fuse panel under dash driver side [by left foot] Take a small socket and remove two nuts on fuse box ,pull out about an inch and a half.Now using a flashlight and very small mirror look behind fuse box at the white tag.Look for the 5 numbers together[it will be backwards due to mirror]Write them down.Enter 5 numbers on keypad on door,driver door should unlock.I just did this on my 01 Sable yesterday,Thanks rebolser

The problem is most likely in the window motor. There is a second relay in the door which controls the autodown feature. Whether the autodown relay is part of the switch pack I do not know. Your bill may show a description. Holding the windowswitch overrides it anyway.

You are right about most of the controls being in the door. The source power line does come from the fuse panel under the dash. Many of the Fords have the relays in the door. You have a couple of choices depending on how much $ to spend and what you want to learn.

A glass shop is experienced about disassembly and reassembly of the door. The motor is expensive for its size versus a Salvaged part. The drivers window is the most used on the car. I would consider a new regulator if the motor is replaced. It is a plastic part and now 6 years old on your car.

If you do this yourself you need to block the window in an up position so you can access all the parts. You need a 1/4 inch drive socket set and some wood to place under the glass. Be careful to remove all door panel screws including those hidden inside the trim plugs on the inside door handle. The regulator is additional work.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

Look for a sticker on your trunk hinge but dont worry if its not there. I think that some Ford products had it in the dash compartment. Dont worry we will stay after it till we get it. Check out this site.

Doubt its a fuse. Most likely the key pad has failed and needs to be replaced. On the bright side this is a good problem to have and you have a very reliable car.

1) Turn key from OFF to ON eight times within 10 seconds ending in the ON position.

2) After doors lock then unlock, press any button on the
remote being programmed.

3) The doors should lock/unlock to confirm programming.

4) Turn key to OFF and door locks should cycle one last time.
