Question about Palm Tungsten E Handheld

Hot Sync with desktop and laptop computers

I have a Tungsten E. Currently, I hot sync with my computer at work. I now have a personal laptop that I use for my consulting business. I would like to have the contacts and calendar from my office computer hot sync to my new laptop. I thought I probably would be able to do so with a cable to the laptop and by only choosing to hot sync the calendar and contacts and disable everything else. Is this possible? Thanks!

Re: Hot Sync with desktop and laptop computers

It is possible but if I well understood u wanna hot sync with ur laptop calendar and contact from ur Tungsten E, (that is having updated data from ur office computer). you can in fact synchronize verything there with ur laptop, and make ur hand held over write ur whatever is in ur laptop, for this u need to install the PDS and go to the hotsync manager on ur system try, go to custom and and on the list of conduits go to contact and change the action to hh overwrite desktop, (do the same for calendar) DON"T FORGET TO CHECK THE OPTION : MAKE AS DEFAULT. U can of course disable the rest except the system conduit. Never forget to set the conduits u change to set as defaults. Like this, u must have always updated data on ur hand-held, for this, u need to keep synchronizing with ur office computer. good luck,

Hotsync Problem with Sony Clie PEG-T615C using XP SP3

Maybe you could also try updating Palm Desktop or maybe downgrading Palm Desktop because I have that exact same PDA and I know it's old. If neither of those work, just pull a system restore or whatever you had planned.

How do i transfer the data from the old palm to

The Palm Desktop (installed on your computer) should have all the information that is currently on it. Make sure that you sync before moving on.

On the tungsten, there will be a version of the palm desktop (updated) for it. Just install that version, it will find your old version, and import from there. PalmDesktop 6 supports Vista, unknown how well it will work as a 32bit app being emulated in 64bit environment.

Can't transfer infor from palm to desktop

Try going to the Palm home page (www.palm.com) and reinstalling the desktop software. Once you have it reinstalled then do a hotsync. I had the same problem and this worked for me. Hopefully it will clear the problem.
Best wishes.

By typing hot Sync my palm makes a restart

Try this, uninstall your current version of Palm Desktop, then go to this link on the Palm support website http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/na/tungsten/tx/unlocked/home/page_en.html this will give you the link to the download for the TX version of Palm Desktop, this may or may not fix your particular problem but it is worth a try.

My tungsten palm went black and now all of my info is gone.

The battery died. if you by chance synced your pda to your computer than you can get it all back by connecting the pda to the computer through usb or cradle and press your hot sync button or option.

Hot synch to new computer

If you right click on the hotsync icon in your status bar, you can set each of the sync options to "handheld overwrites desktop." That should stop you losing data.

Cannot hoysync with outlook 2003

After installing, reinstalling, deleting, hard resets, hitting head against wall... I tried installing the Pocket Mirror conduit as a last ditch effort. An error message popped up saying it could not find the mapi32.dll file. I looked at another PC, located that file in the windows32 directory, copied it to my PC, and I was able to hotsync with Outlook. To test this, I uninstalled the Pocket Mirror and Palm desktop SW, then deleted the mapi32.dll. Installed the Palm 4.1.4 sw, outlook 101 update, plus the conduit update, had same error messages. Added the mapi32.dll to the windows32 directory - was able to successfully sync with Outlook!
